Thank you, President Carter.

October 6 is World Teacher Day. A great teacher opens minds and changes lives. Thank a teacher today. #WorldTeacherDay

School is planning an evening Halloween event for families- looking for help with donations for candy etc. Can you help? If you donate by Oct 5, your donation is doubled if you enter the code LIFTOFF at checkout. Thank you!!! https://t.co/VxCJ38eFbz

Thank you so much to @scooterscoffee for the free drink for teachers today! There were only 2 staff working at the very busy 135th and Grandview location in Overland Park KS but they were efficient and cheerful. Great way to start my day!

[Dr. Kenny Rodrequez @krodrequez]

Still reflecting on an amazing win by the @Chiefs last night!! @GrandviewCSD4 is so proud of you that we will have a “Red” snow day on Wednesday in celebration of the parade! #SuperBowlLVII #ChiefsKingdom

[Bethany Jacobs @jteacherabc]

We enjoyed this read-aloud from Mr. Scherer today! The Giving Snowman helped us understand our character trait of the month- compassion. ⛄️

Dear Elementary School Teachers,

Somehow you have made “criss cross applesauce” the most universal, memorable and powerful phrase ever.

When I asked my high school students to sit on the floor for an activity, they all shouted, in unison, “criss cross applesauce!”

[Sandra Boynton @SandyBoynton]

Sweater weather. #turtleneck

[Nicholas Ferroni @NicholasFerroni]

Please stop saying that we need to increase teacher salaries in order “recruit the best and brightest” as if the best and brightest are not currently teaching.

We need to increase teacher salaries because those currently teaching deserve and earned it.

These are elementary school children who woke up this morning. Who ate their favorite cereal. Who tied their shoes in double knots. Who laughed with friends on the bus. Now more than a dozen are dead. This isn’t normal. It doesn’t have to be this way. It can’t keep being this way

[Dr. Kenny Rodrequez @krodrequez]

Wow. Last week in the 70's and now more snow? No More! Unfortunately, we will need to switch to an AMI day for @GrandviewCSD4 tomorrow, Thursday. District offices will be open to start the day. Set your alarm, get online, and stay connected & warm! #WeAreGrandview #NoMoreWinter

[Dr. Kenny Rodrequez @krodrequez]

Sadly, due to some lingering road conditions with additional refreezing overnight, we will need to have a snow day @GrandviewCSD4 tomorrow. Central office will be open tomorrow for normal business hours. Get some extra sleep but then be ready for school on Tuesday! #SoClose

[Bethany Jacobs @jteacherabc]

This looks like an amazing resource and I’m looking forward to trying it! I’ve signed up. Want to try it with me? @NevelsChristina @maprot @colleen_laney

We’re really enjoying the fall season! 🍁🍂 #kindergarten @CathyChristian7

[Bethany Jacobs @jteacherabc]

@teacherjenny26 I mean, I only get 50 minutes, but yes. And then I beat myself up for wasting all that time when I could have been trying to make a dent in my neverending to-do list. 😢

The CDC now says new data appears to show that vaccinated people who contract COVID can spread the Delta variant just as easily as unvaccinated.

[CDC @CDCgov]

#DeltaVariant surging in U.S. New data show Delta much more contagious than previous versions of #COVID19. Unvaccinated people: get vaccinated & mask until you do. Everyone in areas of substantial/high transmission should wear a mask, even if vaccinated.

@alainashearer I never stopped

[Bethany Jacobs @jteacherabc]

@MKSmithCA I used cloth, but kept a couple extra cloth ones and some disposable ones in my desk just in case.
