Frankly, if the quarterly data misaligns with public sentiment at this point, we should consider it a red flag of Sony fudging numbers and ledgers to suit their narrative. That could result in legal fallout.

As long as it’s not being commercially redistributed or resold, modifications are perfectly legal in this context, especially since the character’s IP lies with the buyer/commissioner.

There’s also the fact that AI regeneration of an art piece doesn’t count as “resale,” unless it is sold. According to the established laws, resale is one of the few things a commissioner is restricted from doing unless the artist agrees to let them do so explicitly, which is a typical arrangement anyway.

I may not like AI art generation for a variety of reasons, but even I find it silly to assume the IP holder doesn’t have the right to modify a purchased art commission. So long as it’s not being resold, there’s no toeing of the line here.

Plus, if the hardline restrictionists had their way, fanart would not exist as the cultural phenomenon it is today, so… @voodoo_by … Look up “fair use” rules. And do some actual NON-AI-assisted homework.
