Messi has often given god glory for everything he has expended in life.
Evetything means everything…
Not just the accolades but the adversity too.
one time he was called not just the goat but god and it bothered him so his response was simple. “I don’t like that. i am not his and everything I have is because of him.”
So much Of this in his life js rooted in deficiency.
When Messi was 10, he was diagnosed with a GHD (growth hormone deficiency)
His family did not have the means to pay for hormone injections and so he faced the danger of his body not growing beyond 4.7…
Messi was in serious physical trouble.
He and his family had a major need and they didn’t have enough..
He had medical deficiency.
A financial deficiency.
A future that looked uncertain.
There wasn’t enough.
This is why I love that statement because if God has given you everything, then that includes the chapters marked by deficiency.
The diagnosis.
The delay.
The disappointment.
The seasons when there wasn’t enough.
This is how god shows up.
Every miracle i the bible begins with desperation…deficiency, or scarcity .
A deficiency of wine.
A deficiency of sight.
A deficiency of strength.
A deficiency of life.
And as we will study..
Bread!
God has never been intimidated by deficiency, because our deficiency often becomes his canvas.

The guy in front of me at REI asked if the tent came in living room size.
Employee: For camping?
Guy: For a dog.
Employee: (pause) A camping dog?
Guy: An emotionally complicated dog.
I was there buying wool socks and immediately stopped pretending not to listen.
The employee pulled down two boxes and started giving him the usual pitch about weather resistance and pack weight.
Guy: I don't care if it survives a mountain. I care if it survives my apartment during thunderstorms.
That got my attention.
He was maybe early forties, still in work clothes, holding a chewed-up leash like evidence.
Guy: I adopted this dog in March. Sweetest animal I've ever met until it rains. Then he tries to crawl under the bathtub.
Employee: Have you tried a crate?
Guy: He bent the crate door.
Me: Big dog?
Guy: Eighty pounds of panic.
He showed us a picture. Huge black mutt with one ear up and one ear doing whatever it wanted.
Me: Yeah, that's not fitting under a chair fort.
Guy: I made him three of those. He destroyed two and cried in the third.
Employee: Vet say anything?
Guy: Build him a den. Small enclosed space. Sit with him. Make it feel normal.
He looked around the store.
Guy: So now I'm here, apparently buying my dog a nicer shelter than I've ever owned.
We ended up helping him pick a pop-up tent because the employee said if thunder started, he didn't want to be fighting poles and instructions while a dog was having an existential crisis.
Guy: Important question. Can a grown man fit in there with one unreasonable dog?
Employee: If you like each other, yes.
Guy: He likes me. I don't know if he respects me.
At checkout the cashier asked if he needed stakes.
Guy: Unless my living room gets windy, I think we're good.
I went back a week later because I forgot the socks.
Same employee saw me and grinned.
Employee: Tent dog guy came back.
Me: No way.
Employee: Brought a picture.
He showed me his phone.
The dog was dead asleep inside the tent on a pile of couch cushions, stretched out like he paid rent. The guy was half in, half out, folded at the waist with a paperback in one hand.
Employee: He said the storm lasted two hours. Dog didn't shake once.
Me: What about him?
Employee: He said his back may never recover but it was the best night's sleep the dog had since he brought him home.
Honestly, fair trade.
Today we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. They fought and died for our freedom. We must never forget the price they paid. 🇺🇸 #MemorialDay

A very special delivery for David Attenborough, beloved by people (and animals) everywhere 💚
To honour Sir David’s 100th birthday, His Majesty The King is supported by a cast of stars from British nature to relay his handwritten message in time for the celebration at the Royal Albert Hall.

I met book-Jamie long before I ever met show-Jamie.
I didn't really think that anyone could embody Jamie Fraser as he was written by Diana Gabaldon.
His character is unique, and layered, a kaleidoscope of sorts.
Somehow, I really don't understand how, but the casting gods deemed it so, and there was Sam Heughan.
We actually had our Jamie Fraser.
People talk about wishing that they could watch that first episode again, as though they were watching for the first time.
To relive the emotions that they had felt that very first time.
To feel everything all over again.
The magic.
I can understand that.
I remember sitting in silence thinking, "There he is. That's Jamie. He is Jamie Fraser."
I was in awe.
A little bit speechless.
Sam was Jamie Fraser.
All these seasons later, he still is.
I always thought that Sam was a remarkable actor.
A born storyteller.
A thespian.
Not just the way that he delivers lines, but the way that he uses his physicality, the way that he moves within a scene.
To me, his non-verbal acting is second-to-none.
The way that you can see his emotions, the way that you can hear his inner thoughts.
All without uttering a sound.
Mesmerizing.
What I find really interesting is that it isn't until you meet him and talk to him that you realize how good of an actor he truly is.
I say this because when you talk with him there isn't a trace of Jamie Fraser.
He is not Jamie Fraser in the flesh.
He is Sam.
Of course, he has an incredible ability to become Jamie in a moment, should he choose to, and I have seen him do so, but he switches back just as easily and it is simply Sam again.
I remember the first time I met him.
I remember thinking that he was just this really lovely guy, funny, oh so funny, kind, really nice, and not a hint of Jamie.
Not one bit.
It was really, really interesting.
As the finale season draws to a close I will miss Sam's portrayal of Jamie.
Nobody else could have portrayed Jamie the way that he did.
He became Jamie as though Diana had been writing about him all along.
Maybe she was?
I think Sam's appeal is that he is a lovely guy who happens to be a really great actor, too.
Over the years, I have loved the way that Sam has shown such love, and genuine respect to Outlander fans.
Whether it was through MPC, here on Twitter, at conventions, signings, parades, meet-and-greets, zoom calls, or casual hellos in the street.
It was Sam who helped us through Droughtlanders, pandemics, (Men in Kilts was a godsend for so many people) and, as it was for so many of us, the ups and downs of life itself.
In return we've shown our appreciation a million different ways, whether it be a kind word of two to Sam when you've met him, a gift or two, a bottle of whisky, supporting his projects or businesses, making a difference in your own lives and the lives of others via MPC, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities, saving seats, battlefields, turtles, and a theatre.
I have always loved hearing about people's interactions with Sam.
The joy that radiates from those that have met him is truly infectious, one can't help but smile when imaging it all.
Such an incredibly wonderful community of folks, happy for those that have met Sam, happy for Sam to have met folks that appreciate him, and happy for everyone who admires him from afar.
Sam will always be our Jamie Fraser.
But, he is so much more than Jamie Fraser.
He always was.
Luckily for us, we get to follow along and see where his next adventure takes him.
Knowing Sam, it could be ANYWHERE and likely to be EVERYWHERE.
So, I am sitting here, with one episode of Outlander to go, raising a dram to Sam.
After everything that he has given to us over the years I think that he deserves the very best of everything.
May his life be filled with love, laughter, joy, family, friends, and success.
I would say whisky, too, but I think he's got that covered.
