4. ⚾️ Here’s why: Facing RHP Tanner Bibee who’s 3-4 with a 4.06 ERA, he gives a slight advantage in the metrics to left-handed batters. He’s averaging 1.9 HR/9 and has given up 4 in the last 30 days.

6. ✅ And I always love to look at prior matchups and in this case, Carpenter is 2 of 4 vs Bibee, with a double and a HR.

5. ⚾️ Carpenter has hit 8 of 10 off RHP with a .876 OPS, hitting a long ball in 5.59% of at bats vs. RHP. He’s also hitting a HR in 6.85% of at bats at home. And my 5 focus metrics (SLG, Exit, Hard Hit, Barrel, Fly Ball), he’s amongst the best in the league.

3. ⚾️ If you’ve been following along this season, you know I love my top rated HR ball parks. But Detroit is not one of those. For left-handed batters, it ranks 18th (19th for right). But with winds driving outfield at 16mph, I’m loving the long odds on Carpenter.
