@davidpattersonx What product can a consumer buy today cheaper prior to AI? There were 245,000 tech layoffs in 25. 1/3 of all video game workers laid off, yet, video games have not dropped a single dollar in price.
@runthenumberz@real_IIB@davidpattersonx Complete fantasy land. People survived during covid because the government froze student loans, evictions, and foreclosures. Credit card debt rose to historic levels. People laid off got a whopping $600 a week. Sure that may be sustainable if you got laid off from McDonald’s
@xAmericanMonkey@davidpattersonx Fantasy land that will never happen. At best, most will receive the same they would on ssd which is $1,200 a month. Good luck trying to raise a family or pay your bills on that. Most will lose everything and live like they do in Cuba.
@Str8_FactsB@AlexFinn@2ToneShawn The US has 8x the amount of data centers compared to any other country on Earth. In China they embrace whatever the government forces them to.
@MikeMumbelz@ClownWorld Perhaps job security initially. Problem lies when most need a new skillset which will flood the market of candidates. Every job will have hundreds or thousands of applicants which drives down wages. Not to mention next democrat President will open the gates for illegals again.
@Conservatarism@Gallup Perhaps you would like this built directly across the street from you. 250 acres of farmland and trees destroyed and property value decimated.
@MadderomMichael@homemadehooplah That’s true, yet, there has never been a product that can eliminate jobs across nearly every single sector simultaneously. Historically people could just learn a new trade. Won’t be possible if AI succeeds. Every remaining job will have hundreds or thousands of applicants
@mattforney@thomasbsauer Perhaps if this was being built across the street from your house you’d have a different perspective. 250 acres of trees and farmland gone.
@Breck0882@SirSquatch1138@ClownWorld Average age of a trade worker is between 45-55 years old. The people entering the field now will eventually be making significantly less when they have to compete with hundreds or thousands of applicants for the same job
@jp0010110@ClownWorld Only problem with that is millions will enter the trade field and lower wages will follow. Every job opening will have hundreds if not thousands of applicants
@nicknow@HealthRanger Indiana, there are currently 54 in development in the state alone. Farmers can’t turn down the money from Meta, Google, Microsoft, and other multi billion dollar companies.
@nicknow@HealthRanger I know of at least 3 within 40 miles of my house with 3-4 more trying to get approved. This is directly across the street from a family members house. 4 months ago it was trees and farmland. 250 acres
