While I think the Australian goverment banning social media for kids was bound to fail, I do think the side effects of it will be ultimately beneficial for kids. Social media providers are already being forced to implement safety measures they just couldnt be arsed with before
mmm, @claudeai Desktop app randomly says I've reached usage limit and breaking sessions seems to be that the compacting feature is no longer working in my Mac desktop client.
.@claudeai is completely borked lately. Constantly telling me I've reached usage limits, when I haven't and then the session becomes unusable and have to start a new session after losing all my context.
Hopefully resolved soon
Building out standards in @DemitonApp and fell into the Procrustean trap. Old mate was an innkeeper who if he had guests that were too tall, he cut off their legs.
Too short, he stretched the poor fellas.
Great analogy for why standardisation is great. Up to a point...
Claude workflows are just 80% more token usage for 20% improvement.
If I was a skeptical man, I'd say it's them upselling you to their higher plan limits as part of the new raise.
Old mate Trump trying to get his orange mug on the US dollar. You know who else did that?
The wonderful Roman Emperor Nero. He was also a paradigm of inept uselessness.
Let it all burn eh?
1/ Australia is the only developed country where every state legally requires contract awards to be public, and not one requires them to be machine-readable.
27 EU states do it. UK and Ukraine do it. Even Moldova and Nigeria do it.
Zero Australian states.
7/ For our civil construction customers: you don't leave the AI client you already use. Ask Claude "how is the M1 upgrade tracking" and get the live Demiton dashboard back, not a paragraph summary.
The protocol layer won. Time to stop building chat surfaces fromscratch.

6 months ago there was no way to render a real interactive dashboard inside an AI chat. You got text. Maybe markdown.
That changed in January.
A short thread on what MCP Apps are, who has adopted them, and why we're shipping our project report on them first.
6/ Built as an MCP App, that same project report renders inline in Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, VS Code GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and our own
Demiton Studio.
One build. Five clients. Zero per-client code.
Added some important mdx components into this so future Pipeline editions can have interactive data viz.
All data also OCDS compliant, the first I believe Australian company/government to do it cc @opencontracting
Will release more information when time allows.
Civil Pipeline #002 is live - au-procurement v0.3.0 now powers all contract award intel on the platform. 9 jurisdictions, one API call. Gateway Motorway CPA ($1.22B), 7 new Defence ATMs, DHA Nirimba closes tomorrow, severe weather SEQ this week.

Pretty pesky bug when you have to roll out a @claudeai MCP server to over 100 end users.
There is a workaround, although it's certainly not the most elegant unfortunately

If you've tried adding Demiton (or any custom MCP server) to Claude Desktop via "Add custom connector" and got nowhere, it's not you. There's a confirmed bug in Claude Desktop's OAuth flow. Here's what's happening and how to fix it now. π§΅
These weekly state of the civil market digests are pulled directly from Demiton's adapters.

Agents are now first-class platform users.
