On this day in 1987, U.S. president Ronald Reagan stands before the Brandenburg Gate and challenges Soviet premier Mikhail Gorbachev to come to Berlin and tear down the wall.
Gotta stand up and applaud Manny Machado on that HR. Telling my wife, I would love to see Manny come back and play his last 1 or 2 seasons here, and win a World Series for our @Orioles#Birdland
I know it’s a minority of the Orioles fanbase, and there were more cheers than boos Friday.
But booing Manny Machado doesn’t make any sense.
Last night is the last time Machado should ever be booed in Baltimore.
Happy 45th anniversary to the one that started it all… RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK - Which opened on June 12, 1981. Starring Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.
Story by George Lucas and Phillip Kaufman. Music by John Williams. Directed by Steven Spielberg
The Knicks trailed by 17 points with less than 9 minutes to go.
Entering today, teams were 0-96 when trailing by 17+ points in the final 9 minutes of regulation of a Finals game since 1970-71.
The Knicks have just made that 1-96.
Leaving Orlando grateful for:
➡️ 63 new missionaries commissioned
➡️ Seminaries equipping the called
➡️ NAMB advancing church planting, evangelism, chaplaincy & relief
➡️ The Cooperative Program ~ the engine that fuels it all
And many friends laboring for the glory of Christ.
The story in the Bible that rattled me before I converted to Christianity from Islam:
The two thieves crucified next to Jesus. I never knew about them. Bro. They’re the whole Gospel in one scene.
Two men. Same sin. Same cross. Same dying breath. Same distance from Jesus — mere feet away on either side.
One mocks Him. One turns to Him and says, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
And Jesus tells the second man: “Today you will be with Me in paradise.” Luke 23:43.
That man did ZERO good works. He couldn’t. His hands were nailed down. He never prayed five times. Never fasted. Never gave to the poor. Never got baptized. He had nothing to offer but a dying glance toward Jesus.
And Jesus saved him... on the spot.
In Islam, that man was doomed. No time to balance the scale. No deeds to weigh. Game over. A horrible life with a horrible punishment ahead.
I wonder if that would be me…
Yet in the Gospel, that man was in paradise the same day — because salvation was never about his works. It was about WHO he turned to in his last moment.
Two criminals. Same cross. One simple difference: which one turned to Jesus.
That’s why the Gospel is offensive.
And Jesus asks everyone: who do you say I am?
Our beloved United States of America was largely built by Immigrants. Backbone of our economy. I love immigrants. And I will forever want more of them. And, we need to figure out a way to reform how this amount of support is allotted. It’s not right
🇺🇸
BREAKING: Marco Rubio just said the quiet part out loud.
Americans work 40+ years…
Pay taxes.
Follow the rules.
Build the country.
Then retire on $800, $900, maybe $1,000 a month.
Meanwhile, new arrivals can allegedly receive more support from the same system they never paid into.
Read that again.
The people who built America are being pushed to the back of the line.
This is not compassion.
This is a government priority problem.
America First was never just a slogan.
It was a warning.
Who comes first?
The taxpayer… or the system?
I’ve never liked the Knicks. I despise New York teams.
But this @nyknicks run is truly amazing. And as a long-suffering Redskins fan who had our beloved Burgundy & Gold abused by Dan Snyder, there is something in me that feels for Knicks fans, with their team abused by James Dolan.
Reading Ezra 7 this morning and stirred to and consider and pray for The Lord’s enabling grace to apply verse 7 to myself, and also appeal to fellow Pastors to faithfully live and do the same, as you seek to love and serve the people in your local churches that the Lord has entrusted to your care.
“For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and teach His statutes and rules in Israel.”
If there is one thing Satan does NOT want you to do — it's pray. Because prayer is the Christian's secret weapon. Employ it today. Pray about whatever you are facing. God is listening.
