.@SB19Official Makes History as First All-Filipino Act at Lollapalooza
On a warm Thursday afternoon in Grant Park, five guys from the Philippines walked onto the Allianz Stage at Lollapalooza and quietly rewrote the record books. Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, better known as SB19, became the first fully Filipino, homegrown act to ever perform at the legendary festival.
For a group that started as trainees, standing on that stage in front of a mixed international crowd was more than a booking. It was proof that P-pop could claim space on one of the world’s biggest music platforms without diluting who they are.
Fans lined up early. Philippine flags waved in the Chicago summer air. People who had never heard a single SB19 song stood shoulder to shoulder with A’TIN who had been waiting years for this exact moment.
Back home, it was the middle of the night. Watch parties stretched across Manila, Cebu, Davao, and beyond. The Rizal Monument glowed blue in their honor. For a lot of Filipinos, it wasn’t just about five performers on a foreign stage. It was about watching this group bring Filipino music to take up space on the massive global stage.
What made the set land so hard was how human it felt. SB19 has always been good at turning struggle into momentum, those early years of uncertainty, the decision to go independent, the build of a global fanbase that refused to stay quiet.
SB19’s appearance fits into a larger trajectory. The self-managed group, often called the “Kings of P-pop,” has steadily expanded its international presence with original material, high-energy choreography, and songs that speak to Filipino experiences—most notably the dance-pop track “VISA,” which addresses barriers faced by Filipino artists and professionals seeking opportunities abroad or just want to travel overseas for tourism. Their Lollapalooza set served as both a celebration of that hard-won progress and a bold introduction of P-pop to a massive, diverse festival audience.
They didn’t need to change their sound or soften their identity to fit the festival. They brought the sharp choreography, the live vocals, the attitude, and the pride. In a lineup stacked with global names, they carved out their own corner and made it feel inevitable.
Moments like this matter because they expand what’s possible. The next Filipino group that dreams of a major international festival stage will have a clearer path. The next kid practicing choreography in a small room will have living proof that the distance between home and Grant Park can be closed.
SB19 didn’t just perform at Lollapalooza. They arrived on their own terms, carrying our Philippine flag with them and left the stage wider than they found it.
History, it turns out, can sound like five voices cutting through a Chicago afternoon, singing in a language the world is finally learning to hear.

You will never fill the hearts of PINOYS. Tandaan nyo yan A’tin. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hehe… I read a heartfelt dissertation…SB19 keeps selling out arenas left and right while your “idols” are still playing for 10-50 pity attendees who only showed up ‘cause free merienda was promised. “Intimate and organic,” you call it? We call it “not enough demand to fill a school auditorium.” Adorable coping mechanism.
Sige, keep romanticizing that “true love from the masa” fairy tale while #SB19 is out here actually breaking records, dominating charts, and forcing the entire industry to move. Pero kayo? Still begging for validation from Congress, DOT, and OPM like charity cases. “No major media love” daw? Maybe because talent and hard work don’t need to be artificially inflated, unlike your forced “grassroots” narrative.
It’s actually hilarious how you measure success by venue size when it suits you, then suddenly switch to “quality over quantity” when your faves can’t sell 500 tickets. Sold-out shows? SB19 got that. Global impact? Check. Cultural takeover? Double check. Your whole personality? Just salty paragraphs and “hindi namin pinapansin ang stats” tears.
Keep clinging to your “small but sincere” delusion like it’s a personality trait. Meanwhile #SB19 is living rent-free in your head, filling venues, filling pockets, and still having the nerve to level up.
The saddest part? You’re out here writing essays begging for the kind of organic love SB19 gets without trying… but all you got is copium and a hashtag.
#SB19 The #PPOP Kings 👑. Periodt. Cry harder in 4K, babies. We’ll be too busy popping champagne in back-to-back sold-outs to notice. 😘
About 70-80% of hotels and Airb&b accomodations around Aseana extending up to Manila Bay area are booked by A'TIN who are watching the Wakas at Simula, The Trilogy Finale Concert of SB19 tonight. Majority of these guests even booked days before and after the concert.
Just imagine how much cashflow is infuse to the ecomy by that alone. Add to that spending on food and transportation. Don't even get me started on how many flew in just for this.
So yeah, SB19 are not just artists but are now an economic force. A vision they have always pegged for and is now a FACT, a reality.

Some of you will never understand why A'TIN celebrates the way we do, and that's fine. But at least get the context right.
Back then, SB19 didn't have the kind of massive machinery other artists enjoy. No big system pushing them into every chart, no automatic visibility. What they had was a fandom that worked, organized, streamed, voted, promoted, and showed up.
A'TIN didn't just support, we helped build the momentum that got SB19 into spaces like the Billboard Social 50 alongside big names in the music industry. That didn't happen by accident. That was collective effort, strategy, and belief.
And yes, aside from us just being proud of what the boys have achieved, part of why we document everything is because that's what the media picks up. If we don't highlight these milestones, they get overlooked, misattributed, or worse, forgotten. We've already seen how easily narratives can be rewritten, how contributions can be under-credited or brushed aside. So we choose to make things visible. To keep the story accurate. To make sure the work is acknowledged. So when we document milestones, even the "First Filipino" ones, you're not just looking at a number. You're seeing proof of what a fandom and an artist can achieve without the usual advantages.
So again, don't assume that every achievement post is us being competitive, think of it as a proud moment for fans and a documentation as well. We're honoring the work, ours and theirs.
Every time we say "First Filipino," it's not about one-upping anyone. It's about recognizing a moment that used to feel impossible, and is now happening in real time.
You laugh at the record. We remember why the record exists. Because for a long time, there was no record.
So no, we're not in a race with anyone. We're keeping receipts of progress, maliit man o malaki. And if that looks like competition to you, maybe it's because you're the one looking for it.
We'll keep celebrating. You can keep scrolling.
Surprise A'TIN!
We're so thrilled to announce that we'll be performing on the Lollapalooza stage this 2026!
Can't wait to see you, Chicago 🤘
