@MVCHoopsCentral That has already happened. In 1996 3 teams didn't make it. It was also an 11 team league and they had an 8 team Arch Madness with 9th, 10th and 11th left out.
@tmlemaster Money-driven?
Yes.
BUT....
Quick math says $2 Mil / 11 teams (12 total units bc the team that wins gets 2 units) / 6 years = $30K a year for each team and $60K for the team that does it.
What is that gonna do for a program in 2027??? NOTHING. That is 1% of Murray's NIL.
Mark my words. Somehow, some way, the MVC will announce a healthy attendance INCREASE at Arch Madness.
*pay no attention to the arena being 97% empty all weekend.
Come back and look at this in early March.

@JonRothstein@JonRothstein please ask what problems the league office was trying to solve with this change. Also, have they thought about…All Session tickets. If I’m a fan of a team who doesn’t play until Saturday…do I even need to spend the $$$ on an All Session ticket? Feels shortsighted.
@MVCsports Wow not even all 11 schools will get to come down to St. Louis and it’ll be an incredibly difficult task for anyone outside the top 2. Egregiously bad
With only 1 real 5 on Bradley's roster I thought it was weird Wardle is planning on not filling 3 scholarships. Is he waiting on 5 in 5 to pass next month and then Meta, AJ and Corey could some/all potentially return?
If that happens bro is officially playing chess not checkers.
Low majors, D2, D3 and NAIA will be infinitely more successful at keeping large chunks of their teams/programs intact than Mid Majors. They are gonna be the worst casualty bc the big boys already know these players can compete with or beat them. Thanks for nothing, NCAA. RIP
@ValleyRunsDeep This is why I have been Mr. Doom and Gloom on the podcast.
The landscape has forever changed and fans of teams like us just got pantsed
Only thing scarier than giving me a Twitter Platform… a live microphone. Listen to me and @ValleyRunsDeep break down Illinois State Men’s Basketball 2025/26 season.
The NCAA is exploring a significant change to its eligibility rule, sources tell @YahooSports. The proposal creates an age-based standard: Athletes would have 5 years of eligibility from their 19th birthday or HS graduation.
No redshirts or waivers.

If Pedon wins another game or 2 some Power Conference dummies might try to snipe him like he is the next Josh Schertz and Illinois State's guys are the next SLU.
I would be deceased from laughter.
Please universe I don't ask for much but make this happen
@Sycamore_Ball@BC3Putts The "better" since 2020 Indiana State:
