What surprised me in the sit-down is the noticeable mental fortitude that Juliana has.
Did you know she already built a team around her composed of a fencing coach, an S&C coach & a sports psych? Does this ring some bells? Yes, it’s the Olympic winning formula of Hidilyn Diaz.

If there’s one advantage that newly crowned UAAP Fencing champion Juliana Gomez has been using, it’s the opportunity to spar & learn from her dad, SEA Games gold medalist Richard Gomez.
Check out this video of them going at it in a fencing gym in Ormoc.
Shifting from the UP Volleyball Team B to the UP Fencing Team in the middle of the pandemic, Juliana Gomez has finally found her place in the world of sports.
Juliana started late, taking fencing seriously only at age 20. Just like dad.
After 2 years, she’s now UAAP champion.
For moms and teachers, it means peace of mind and having an extra hour or two in the night left for taking care of themselves.
Thank you, One Meralco Foundation, for supporting #WomanInAction, and the 150 school children of Banaue!
Let’s #LightItUp, one community at a time!
Light 💡 It may be trivial to us, but for the kids of Ifugao, having these solar lamps means security for their education. It means being able to continue their studies despite the brownouts that regularly come in a typhoon-battered region such as the Cordilleras. #WomanInAction
You don’t have to prove to God that you’re worthy, He’s already made you worthy. You don’t have to prove that you deserve His goodness, He knew every mistake you would ever make, every fault, every weakness, and He’s already accepted and approved you.
So so happy that you get to do a show out of your passion project. 🥺 💛
