I am mentally ill and yet I have never had the desire to target an entire group of people and massacre them.

Racism is not a mental illness. It is a choice of hatred and violence.

Do not further demonize and stigmatize mental health in order to avoid the dealing with racists.

@DrAlrahmani As much as I agree with these, we have to be cautious to not propagate the idea that there are only medical reasons to validate an abortion. As healthcare advocates, we must promote the idea of bodily autonomy and allow those with a pregnancy a choice, regardless of the motives.

@AOC Rep. AOC (D-NY): “Our demand is for the Senate to override the Parliamentarian. Include a full path to citizenship.”

(The Senate Parliamentarian said Senate rules prohibit Democrats from including immigration policy in their social safety net bill.)

[The Recount @therecount]

Rep. @AOC (D-NY) speaks in support of a pathway to citizenship:

“We just lived through one, almost two years now, of a pandemic … where our country relied on undocumented people to survive.”

Can you imagine exercising your first amendment right and someone comes along exercising their second amendment right and chooses the best solution to their discomfort to your protesting systemic oppression is to end your life?

A tenant of medical training is mentorship/apprenticeship. As interns, our practice as doctors is easily influenced by our colleagues. As our trajectories unfold, we come to embody the individuals that shape our vision of how medicine is practiced. 🩺

This has been the best team by far!

[Julio C Ramos, MD (he/him/his) @juceramo]

I’m nearing the end of my surgical ICU rotation this weekend. I’ve been working with a great team composed of emergency medicine/anesthesiology residents + critical care fellows and I’ve experienced the impact colleague dynamics have on medical training.

"I am an #anesthesiologist. I erase consciousness, deny memories, steal time, immobilize the body. I alter heart rate, blood pressure & breathing, and I reverse these effects. I eliminate pain during a procedure & prevent it afterward" - Dr. Henry Przybylo. #WorldAnaesthesiaDay
