JOHN TERNUS HOSTS HIS FIRST APPLE $AAPL EVENT AS CEO TOMORROW
The last person to change the shape of the iPhone did it by taking things away:
Steve Jobs deleted the keyboard, the buttons and the stylus in 2007, then handed the whole front of the phone to the software.
"We're going to use the best pointing device in the world. We're going to use a pointing device that we're all born with. We're born with ten of them."
He said the result was five years ahead of anything on any other phone.
Nineteen years later every iPhone is still that same design. Bigger screens, better cameras, faster chips, same rectangle.
Apple is expected to fold it in half tomorrow, with a passport-style design and a near-8-inch display when opened.
Nobody has shipped a folding phone yet without a visible crease down the middle.

$SKHY 4.87x. You gotta be kidding me.
Even lower than $MU at 5.56x.
At these levels, they can buy back the entire company in just ~4 years. Shortage until 2030.
Pure madness.
🚨 NOW: Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent just walked out at the G20 and said America is PULLING AWAY as the global AI SUPERPOWER
China is LIVID!
"We're up from 60% in 2025, by 2028, the US will have 80% of global computing power HERE!" 🇺🇸
"The president's policies have laid the groundwork for this economy."
"We have regulatory certainty, the president tasked this admin with cutting regulatory burden."
"This is a growth story...growth has been better given the Iran conflict."
End of an era. 🍏

WARREN BUFFETT TURNS 96 TOMORROW AND IS REPORTEDLY STILL MAKING BERKSHIRE'S BIGGEST EQUITY DECISIONS AS CHAIRMAN
That includes a stake in Google $GOOGL now worth $36.6B, built up over recent quarters.
Berkshire $BRK.B shareholders have less to celebrate:
The Class B shares closed Friday at $505.00, up just +0.5% year to date. The S&P 500 is up +12.7%, which puts Berkshire 12.2 percentage points behind the benchmark.
The stock did touch an intraday high of $537.74 on Aug. 10 after Q2 earnings, its best level since the record close just before Buffett announced in May 2025 that he would step down as CEO. It has given most of that back since.
Barron's floated several explanations for the gap: uncertainty around Greg Abel as CEO, no meaningful drawdown of the cash position, no dividend, and no acquisition in the $100B or larger range.
TIME’s new cover: Dolly Parton, the beloved country-music superstar, died in Nashville at 80.
Known for writing about the lives of working-class people in more than 3,000 recorded songs and later giving away nearly 300 million books to children around the world, Parton’s life was a true Cinderella story. https://t.co/9hT8kjv3S0
Some of my clearest moments of reflection have come while spending time in our national parks. Grateful to see Yosemite captured so beautifully by Glenn Lee Robinson in this #ShotOniPhone photo. #NationalParkWeek
