@Tbenda34@jaxmads10@KurichRuslan@NoodleHairCR7 It was a bit of a cursed chalice, three superstars that all thought they had the right to not run and do the defensive work. Also because of the politics and finances involved, he was pretty much forced to play all of them wherever possible. Didn’t amount to anything special.
@mrzeal7@7003y@AdamJoseph And how did this work out for you? Win the Champions League, have an extraordinary season? Or did you learn that one player isn’t responsible for a teams achievements?
@Konge108@ben_bowman_@AKfromthelane I only really started following him the last year but he’s been on the money so far. When you think about it there are a lot of people involved in transfers (boardroom, coaches, accountants, lawyers). All it takes is someone to tell their friend a little insider info…
@JoeBrazier8@Lightdefii@namdithsoj@szyexcl That’s my take on it. Few high value assets, few decent players that will be punted on, and a lot of deadwood/academy that will add up to a fair amount. 200m not unrealistic at all.
@Konge108@ben_bowman_@AKfromthelane (I actually agree with you with people getting overexcited but I think the cats out of the bag with the nature of social media. At this point just choose what you want to believe and go along with the ride)
@Konge108@ben_bowman_@AKfromthelane a lot faster. You’re right in saying we shouldn’t trust him more, but we shouldn’t necessarily trust him less. He clearly knows someone at the club from what I’ve seen, and true info from one person is as valuable as true info from another.
@JoeBrazier8@Lightdefii@namdithsoj@szyexcl Rejected 50m for Bergvall in Jan. Romero is a weird one but a patter of that quality won’t be key go for under 50. Let’s see what Atleti do with the Alvarez money, they wanted him last summer but couldn’t afford.
@Konge108@ben_bowman_@AKfromthelane He’s been really reliable, which is why people are listening. It’s really not that outlandish that a random guy knows a guy at the club than a journalist knows at guy at the club.
@Davewhi77s@HLTCO Been watching with my family who usually don’t care about football. It’s nice they’re taking an interest but they probably didn’t know what they were in for.
@JoeBrazier8@Lightdefii@namdithsoj@szyexcl Sarr could honestly be 30-40m on his own in a vacuum. But with our squad bloat I imagine we won’t be able to get full value. But yeah, plenty of money to recoup.
@Lightdefii@JoeBrazier8@namdithsoj@szyexcl Just sold a teenager who’s never played a single competitive minute for us (plus sell on) for 50m. Bergvall would be more. Romero will be 50+. Vicario rumoured for 15-20. Dragusin, Richarlison and maybe a couple of surprises. Could be well over 200m realistically.
@Gingeman1@GMK1706@rebekkarnold There won’t be a fair way to deter that without someone’s feelings being hurt. What we’re have now isn’t perfect but ‘spend what you earn’ might be somewhat as close as we can get.
@Gingeman1@GMK1706@rebekkarnold Well exactly. And when you have Villa and Newcastle (both relegated in the years nearing their takeovers) crying foul it rings a little hollow. The fact is football has always been a money game, just an increasingly uneven one over the years with who exactly is buying in.
@Ninjatime20@EduardoAusGS@England@HKane You mean in the 2nd half when Croatia started pushing for a goal? Or do you mean against the best team England have played so far overall?
England won’t win the cup but they’ll do better than your tiny mind can imagine.
