Something that is bothering me that people don’t seem to be talking about is that they’re going to the SOU address, not just a photo op at the WH. The SOU is an explicitly political speech where president’s lay out their agendas. Both options are bad, but this is way worse
WATCH: Quinn Hughes was asked by ABC's George Stephanopoulos about attending tonight's State of the Union...
"I don't know how much we're allowed to say, but yes. Yeah, we're excited to go. Something you don't get to do -- I don't know what today is - every Tuesday. But yeah -- but, it's going to be special for us, but I'm glad you mentioned the women's team again. You know, we're really happy for them. Obviously, a lot going on on social media surrounding our team and their team. But, you know, the last couple we've done a lot of training with them and got to know a lot of those girls really well. We're extremely happy to come"
“I must tell you, we’re going to have to bring the women’s team, you do know that. I think if we don’t do that, I do believe I probably would be impeached"
@scrabblebadger Exactly. And agreed the likelihood they’ve ever watched a SOTU address is very slim. Are they going to cheer when he says racist and xenophobic shit? When he talks about attacking Iran? When he says something transphobic?
@SaffyTaffy Sorry I’m emotionally preparing myself for when Jack leaves for Minnesota we don’t get to have nice things as devils fans remember this is the best it’s gonna get
Still in my feels, it’s been such a privilege watching Jack Hughes play hockey for the last 5 years. I remember the feeling of that Chicago OT goal, knowing that he was going to be special. I truly hope we get to see him win a Stanley Cup in NJ, but if we don’t, it’s been a blast
Team USA’s🇺🇸 Quinn Hughes on what his brother, Jack Hughes, dealt with leading up to his golden goal:
“Yeah, people don’t know shit. There’s a bunch of idiots out there and no one’s rehabbed before, you know? There’s reporters out there saying this and that. They don’t know what it’s like to get surgery for six months, not really feel good for 10 months, and do that back to back. For him to just persevere and keep believing and just keep going no matter what happens, he’s a special guy, special player.”
When I was at ESPN, I was asked to have Jack Hughes write a letter to his future self during his draft year. This passage stands out today... https://t.co/UYVdduvOkw
