@PatrickRugaba That nonsensical speaking is really not need in our country, you have your country go as say what you want there but as of Rwandans living in Rwanda we are happy with our leaders, we celebrate any achievement Our Mother land is getting.
Le chef des renseignements des FDLR s'appelle également Gén de Brigade Nyembo Abdallah, mais son vrai nom est le Général de brigade Sébastian Uwimbabazi.
Norman, in just one tweet, reveals why genocide ideology freezes the mind, suspends critical thinking, and hands the reins to bitterness and hate. He appears to think that Rwanda’s investment in sport should be judged solely by whether Rwandans top every discipline. Such a view is not only simplistic — it misses the point entirely.
The primary objective of Rwanda’s investment in the sports industry lies in the creation of thousands of jobs, the expansion of the tourism sector, and the broader benefits to tertiary services — a central pillar of the country’s economic growth, alongside agriculture and industry. Of particular note is the expertise being built in hospitality and event hosting, which increasingly positions Rwanda as one of the region’s top destinations for major sporting events. Not to mention the cultural boom sparked by people visiting, engaging with Rwandans, and discovering the richness of Rwandan heritage.
Were a normal person — one whose cognitive faculties weren’t clouded by hate — to criticise Rwanda’s sporting performances, the critique would not be aimed at the investments themselves. These investments improve lives, create opportunities, and inspire young people by bringing them into contact with champions — role models who motivate them to dream, train, and compete.
A fair criticism would instead be directed at urban planners, particularly in Kigali, who have yet to match the government’s ambition by ensuring the development of sufficient public sports facilities as cities expand. This shortfall has likely stunted some emerging talent. That would be a constructive and meaningful critique.
Most importantly, we must not lose sight of the true essence of sport: it is not solely about elite performance. It is about bringing communities together, strengthening social cohesion, promoting public health, and nurturing a generation of disciplined, value-driven, and goal-oriented youth. Though competition has its place, sport is above all a force for community, and, when embraced with vision, a sound and lasting investment in the nation’s future.
Norman might come to understand this if he could set aside Jambo’s genocidal ideology, take the time to learn about the country he so bitterly resents, and reflect on what it truly means to have contributed — even in passing — to Rwanda’s progress. One way or another, he will come to realise that, in the end, Rwanda is all he has.
