Final chemistry lab session before the Easter break.
Good to see the progress and engagement.
Wishing everyone a well-deserved break and all the best as they return to Boston.
Good memories with fellow PhD scholars at @ucl (2021).
Grateful for the collaborative environment, challenging discussions and shared curiosity that shaped my development as a scientist.
It is also meaningful to reflect on the growing presence of African researchers contributing to global science, something I am proud to be part of.
I am pleased to have completed a peer review for Organic Process Research & Development (@ACSPublications).
Peer review is a fundamental part of maintaining rigour and integrity in scientific research. Contributing to this process is both a responsibility and an opportunity to support the advancement of our field.
Grateful to the editors for the opportunity to contribute to the evaluation of new work in catalysis and process chemistry.

As we step into March, may our goals be clearer, our decisions sharper and our execution stronger.
In research, leadership and industry alike, progress is rarely accidental. It is structured, disciplined and intentional.
A new month presents an opportunity to refine focus, elevate standards and execute with greater precision.
Growth is built month by month.
Wishing you a productive and purposeful March.
Professional standards matter.
Proud to hold the Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) and Chartered Chemist (CChem) credentials, awarded by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Chartered status represents more than a title. It reflects demonstrated competence, ethical practice, continued professional development and commitment to advancing the chemical sciences.
Grateful to be part of a global community that upholds rigour, integrity and excellence in chemistry.

This week was a deep dive into sharper thinking, stronger leadership and more human-centred communication, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I completed a focused set of courses on emotional intelligence, critical thinking and modern management communication, not to collect certificates, but to refine and strengthen frameworks I already apply in research, teaching and leadership contexts.
Continuous improvement is part of serious professional practice.
Courses completed:
• Developing Your Emotional Intelligence — Dr Gemma Leigh Roberts
https://t.co/EqpqmuM34M
• Critical Thinking for Better Judgment and Decision-Making — Becki Saltzman
https://t.co/uh3vLOHrpy
• Communication Skills for Modern Management — Jean Marie DiGiovanna
https://t.co/1Cq84hMAGf
• Leading and Motivating People with Different Personalities
https://t.co/QSCMYsBmix
• Critical Thinking for More Effective Communication
https://t.co/XXzEHmb3I3
Key reinforced principles:
Emotional intelligence is not “soft”; it is a performance multiplier.
Better decisions come from better questions, not faster answers.
Communication is a leadership tool, not just a delivery method.
Different personalities do not need control; they need calibrated motivation.
Critical thinking is less about being right and more about being rigorous.
The common thread?
Clarity beats assumption. Awareness beats reaction. Structure beats impulse.
Learning is most valuable when it sharpens how you show up... in conversations, in decisions and in how you lead people.
Continuous improvement mode: always on.

It has been exciting to see the growing engagement around our Frontiers in Chemistry Research Topic, “Cardiac Glycosides: From Heart Remedies to Cancer Fighters.”
Cardiac glycosides are remarkable in their journey, from centuries-old heart remedies to emerging candidates in modern oncology and molecular pharmacology. Their chemistry continues to inspire questions about structure, mechanism and therapeutic innovation.
We welcome new contributions that explore these molecules from multiple perspectives: synthetic, computational, biological and translational.
Every study adds another layer to understanding how small structural changes can lead to major biological outcomes.

In 2022, I received the hard copy of my Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) membership certificate, a recognition that marked my formal admission as a Member (MRSC) and reflected years of dedication to research, education and service in the chemical sciences.
Yesterday, I was delighted to receive an email from the RSC introducing digital membership credentials for all members. It is a thoughtful and forward-looking initiative that makes it easier to showcase professional achievements and connect with the global scientific community in new modern ways.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for you to showcase your achievements… A membership credential is a quick, simple way to represent your accomplishments as part of your digital professional profile.” — RSC Membership Team
I appreciate how the RSC continues to evolve while staying true to its mission of advancing the chemical sciences for a better future. This digital innovation is more than symbolic, it reflects the society’s commitment to accessibility, recognition and community for chemists worldwide.
You can view my verified digital credential here:
