📣NEWS!!
Cafcass have finally admitted that they've been getting it wrong about domestic abuse.
Cafcass Chief Executive, Jacky Tiotto said: "I am sorry that some four years on from the Harm Panel report, there are still children and adults in family court proceedings who do not receive the protection they deserve and require."
"No child or adult should have to live with or worry about the prospect of spending time with another adult who threatens, controls, abuses, and harms them. Sadly, many abusive adults apply to the family court to spend time or to live with their children despite causing them harm and being a risk of further harm to them in the future."
NEW POLICY INTRODUCED!

👉 Improving Space for Children in Child Contact Processes. Even if practitioners did understand – there’s no space for thinking about children in the child contact process.

📣NEW CAMPAIGN! 📣
Today we’re launching our new campaign - #FreedomShouldntCost - to raise funds to empower our work around #EconomicAbuse.
If you donate between today and 17th October, your donation will be generously matched by the Big Give Women and Girls Match Fund, so every penny raised this week will go twice as far!
During the campaign we’ll be sharing more about what economic abuse is, and how it impacts women and children.
At SWA, we think freedom from abuse shouldn’t cost you your income, your home, your education, your savings or your future.
Your donation over the next week can help us elevate the issue of economic abuse across Scotland, so that economic abuse is recognised for the devastating criminal behaviour that it is, and so that survivors get the emotional and practical support they need, when they need it.
Together, we can make real change 💪 : https://t.co/HIteziaREc

⚖️There is an urgent need to address the current failures of mechanisms across criminal and civil courts that lead to sheriffs in child contact proceedings having insufficient information regarding several critical factors.
🌏The conference will explore this issue and will also highlight the connection to and implications of recent international human rights cases, and the incorporation of UNCRC to judicial thinking.
