"The money is in the list" is a misleading statement
Because
You could have few email subscribers and earn more $$$
compared to someone with a huge list
Everything depends on how you set up these 3 VITAL things when building your list
(A thread) Let's Go
As exciting as your company vision is ...
Your customers don't really care about it.
Customers always care about what's in it for them.
So putting your vision front and centre on your website is an expensive mistake.
Prospects see it and bounce.
Nobody does hard things for free.
Not you. Not me. Not that "disciplined" person you follow online.
They just found an incentive you haven't seen yet.
Let me tell you about beans.
Iโm convinced discipline is just the highest form of self-respect. Itโs choosing what you want most over what you want now. Itโs keeping your word. Itโs an act of service to your future self.
Before you judge yourself for lacking discipline โ
Ask what incentive the system is giving you to fail.
Then build the one that makes you show up.
Capisce?

This is also why employees rarely build side hustles once the salary starts coming in.
The salary is an incentive โ to stay comfortable.
Every system you're in is quietly shaping your behavior through incentives.
The question is: are they pointing at what you actually want?
If your message sounds like โI can fix your problem,โ donโt be surprised when people ignore you or doubt you.
Look, theyโve heard it before, tried it before, and got burned before. You also know this. So when you show up sounding the same, you donโt look helpful, you look familiar in the worst way.
For instance, a weight coach saying, โI can help you lose weight.โ Most people instantly think, โYeah... like the last 10 things that didnโt work for me, get the fuck out of here.โ
Thatโs the problem with โtreating pain,โ it reminds people of failure, and it makes them SECRETLY angry at you (and snub your messages).
The craziest part? You blend in, you trigger skepticism/doubt, and you attract people who hesitate, question you, or canโt pay.
So when your whole pitch or marketing message is about fixing something? You sound like a repair shop, and people hardly trust repair promises, especially in 2026 (full-blown AI era).
To whom much is given much is expected
If Youโre young, youโve been blessed with much time
What are you doing with it?
If Youโre using the internet, youโve been blessed with abundance of knowledge
What are you doing with it?
Ponder on this
Ads donโt create trust, they only increase the trust that ALREADY exists.
If trust is weak, ads will still waste your money. If trust is strong, ads will multiply your sales.
Thatโs the real difference. Know this, then adjust accordingly.
Iโve got nearly 5,000 followers across LinkedIn & Twitter. I get thousands of views and hundreds of likes. And every day, I wish instead, these followers would be e-mail subscribers
Most wouldn't get it
