Converted individuals often become religious extremists, showing extreme hostility and aggression. This hyper-zealous behaviour is often psychological overcompensation to prove loyalty to their new faith.

In the Indian subcontinent, some individuals converted from Hinduism to other faiths became extremists; Hinduism became torture for them and psychological unease developed over time.

They alienated themselves from Indian society, culture and tradition based on the geographical nuances of the subcontinent where they live.

They outsourced their identity to the places where these religions originated, including teachings in a language they never understood.

This was later exploited by the British and by political parties in India and Pakistan, who used religion to sustain power and targeted Indian culture as a common enemy.

The charges against Prof. Suryanarayana Doolla of IIT Bombay under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act are unfair.
