The story that America is getting “ripped off” or taken advantage of just does t ring true to me. We are the richest country on earth. Our per capita income of roughly 60k makes our average worker a 1 percent income earner for the rest of the world. We are 4.2% of the world’s population yet are 26% of global gdp.
What am I missing?
Team USA has the most innovative private sector, deepest capital markets, best universities and a work ethic. We have been winning since way before I was born in 1964.
America’s debt has reached nearly $37 trillion. If we don’t start addressing it, the recent economic turbulence could look mild compared to what could happen if others stop buying our treasuries and financing our debt.
@mehdirhasan we're the least healthy advanced nation on earth. 25% of adolescents are obese. There are ingredients the FDA allows that are banned in most countries. The system needs to be blown up.
As a Jew, this feels like the end of an era. I gotta hand it to us: we had a great run.
For the last 70 years, we ran Hollywood and every mom in America wanted us to marry their daughters.
It’s been a privilege and an honor.
I’ll be converting to Islam this weekend. Inshallah.
@gokulr It’s funny how heretical this statement is but:
some of us really really like working hard on things that are important to us, especially surrounded by caring and sometimes brilliant people.
No, mojitos on the beach can possibly compete with that. They are nice occasionally.
