Illinois judges could get more training in domestic violence and racial bias under a proposed law. But the state Supreme Court argues the training they provide to judges already gets the job done.

Out of 88,582 federal criminal defendants in 2019, only 1,954 of them went to trial.
Even fewer people had a trial by jury, although it is considered the fairest way to handle a case.
