This is a metaphor that is being applied to the current political crisis which has seen superficial divisions emerging of Constitutionalists, (Anti-2030 Agenda) & Non-Constitutionalists - pro2030 Agenda.
The point he was simply trying to communicate is that the distinctions are theoretical as the Constitution has been repeatedly violated to the point where it is now virtually worthless.
If that premise is accepted, then it means that the so-called Constitutionalists are deluded as in reality they are pursuing a factional agenda, choosing one ZANU PF faction over the other, as in the many instances in which the Constitution has previously been repeatedly violated where there was no succession battle, no such interest / urgency was shown in trying to defend the Constitution.
The call to defend & protect the country simply invokes a return to our foundational values as a nation, which go beyond the Constitution but will also ultimately mean that, once that's attained, the Constitution would then retain it's original primacy.
In essence, you can all claim to want to fight to defend the Constitution, but without constitutionalism, the culture of respecting the Constitution, such calls are hollow & would simply be mired in ZANU PF factional battles, at least within the current political context. As they say, timing is everything!
Surely it is reasonably foreseeable that any triumphant ZANU PF faction is likely to be more focused on power retention using the current template than on respecting constitutionalism.
The obsession with the Constitution appears to be disingenuously solely focused on term limits & preventing Agenda 2030 than broader provisions & enduring change!
The business of being bridesmaids & helping to coronate one ZANU PF faction over another should surely have ended in November 2017!
Hello! I wanted to share an urgent cause with you. Teacher Sammy, a dedicated preschool teacher, has been diagnosed with leukemia and needs immediate treatment to survive. Every donation, no matter how small, can help cover her medical expenses and give her a chance to return to the classroom. Please consider clicking the link below to donate or sharing it with others who might want to help. Thank you!

Magaisa wekuTEMU Strikes Again!
Vana Lynne are those types of low key haters who will show their true colours once you fall out with them.
Hanzi I am a Magaisa wekuTEMU! 🤣🤣🤣People have alerted me to that - which is really petty, mean spirited & unwarranted.
Please note that I have never claimed to be him, & don't need to. As I have always said, he was in a league of his own.
He had a gem of a heart & was always gracious towards me & my work - always appreciating what I wrote & encouraging to do more of it. It's only work commitments that have always held me back.
Many don't know, including madam wema Dhakisi avo, that I & Alex were only a few streams apart at UZ, our paths crossed there, were very close here in the UK & worked extremely well together on many leading legal, social & political cases of the day. He was a brother to me as we both share the same totem!
I don't need validation from social media because that is not where I draw my income from. Writing is simply a hobby that I enjoy & am passionate about. I am absolutely comfortable in my own skin & legacy.
Magaisa studied Arts, including History & English Literature. He started at Avonlea Primary School, I started at Louis Mount Batten before we both left for schools elsewhere.
There are many here that don't know, and it will stay that way. I prefer keeping my private life mostly private.
Because we are from the same generation, most of our English Literature set books were the same and, in that vein, our diction & syntax is likely to be similar.
If I ever write my memos, many will then realise that the cheap shots at me were never warranted. There is absolutely nothing special about me.
I am a simple guy from Nerutanga. They raise them humble but resilient there. There isn't anything I didn't do, from herding cattle to tilling fields etc until relocating to Harare at some point!
I enrolled at the UZ's School of Law via merit - from Mt Pleasant High & was the only one to make it in my stream.
As you can all imagine, I was ribbed for this at UZ for so many years, which helped in developing the thick skin needed to navigate life.
A simple political disagreement on X should not ordinarily result in this level of drama, insults smearing unless if there had always been hate underneath!
Do you have proof of what you are saying or it’s just a chit-chat?
If you have the proof kindly provide so that the Zimbabweans know and we judge accordingly !
• Stop blaming Nelson Chamisa and I encourage you to form your own best political party.
• If you consider NC as failure then move on and rectify all his mistakes then.
Most of you have dockets waiting for a day you go offside. You know the magnitude of the criminal acts you guys are involved in but you’re protected by the system. The system which you defend, has desecrated the constitution & our legal system. Spare us those crocodile tears .
SADC’s Election Observer Mission to Tanzania led by Malawi’s Richard Msowoya concludes that “in most areas, voters could not express their democratic will” and “overall the 2025 general election… fell short of the requirements of the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections”
