@RPMarks A man said “smile it may never happen” to me in a hospital foyer. My mum was dying of cancer inside, and I was just taking a break. Unfortunately I was too upset to respond. Really stupid thing to say to anyone, but especially in a hospital. This was 30 years ago - still mad.

@JeffCarnage It isn’t new. Several times I’ve had a middle seat at the front and my husband a middle seat at the back (or vice versa) because we refuse to pay extra for seats. We expect and accept this for a cheap flight, although a bit annoying. No other airline seems to do this.

@SimonCalder @SimonCalder the same thing happened to my son travelling to France, with Ryanair. Agent and a supervisor (by phone) refused to allow him to travel with 2 months before issue date plus 10 yrs and 8 months to expiry date. Luckily another Ryanair agent intervened and checked him in

@scottwilson1984 @thepaulwilliams Great idea. Currently the buyer may also pay for a survey and land searches pre exchange of contracts, and the seller can then just pull out with no financial impact at all. This has happened to us as a buyer twice - hundreds of pounds wasted.
