To re-cap last night; The SNP ambushed Labour, who blackmailed the speaker, who broke the rules, which saved Keir’s blushes, which gave the Tories the excuse to pretend to be angry so they could withdraw and not lose the vote, and the SNP were angry their plot failed, so neither put party politics aside to vote for a ceasefire they claim to want, meaning parliament’s a mess but not as much of a mess as Gaza, which last night’s events did nothing to help
This Tory government's aim to "max out" on North Sea fossil fuels up until 2050 is the most duplicitous and cynical abuse of power, and a devastating lack of vision and leadership. Can't wait to see them gone. https://t.co/YLQlZQRBkM
The rally is, at heart, a climate denial protest. This man says carbon is good because we're made of carbon. "When they talk about reducing carbon they mean they want to reduce you." #oxford#ltn
I'm live at the pro-traffic rally in Oxford city centre. Ostensibly a protest against LTNs, or low-traffic neighborhoods, it's an intoxicating mix of far-right conspiracy slogans, antisemitism and really terrible hip-hop.
An MP that spouted anti-vax, anti-scientific conspiracy theories was expelled by their party yesterday. People with the same views are travelling from round the country to lecture locals in Oxford and spread myths about the plans to reduce congestion.

"Now, the first-ever climate change Rico case alleges that international oil and coal companies, their trade associations, and a network of paid thinktanks, scientists and other operatives conspired to deceive the public"

How would you explain flexibility and the energy system to people at the pub?
Scot Wheeler of University of Oxford shows us how with a brilliant demonstration of #energyflexibility using a pint of beer!

Retrofitting houses tackles the causes of climate change whilst insulating & ventilating homes to protect them from the high temperatures we are experiencing today. Investment today lowers bills in the long term & reduces our dependence on gas.
Time for a UK retrofit strategy!
"Energy waste is like food waste. It has no justification, it is not good for anyone” says CBI director general, amid calls for greater focus on reducing #energy consumption

"Improving homes should be a win-win. Better-insulated homes cost less to heat, and they have smaller carbon footprints too."- Interesting story on adoption of Solar PV & energy crisis from @mattsreynolds1 at @WiredUK

New from us: a detailed analysis of fossil fuel imports from Russia during the first two months of the invasion of Ukraine, breaking the trade down by country, port and shipment. The windfall to Kremlin from high prices is huge, but volumes are falling due to self-sanctioning.
