I've seen a lot of people say "Sorare just made ยฃ100k in 34 minutes" as if it's a bad thing - and it's not a reality.
People would have already had gems that they bought, gems that they won, and gems that they earned via collections and such.
Sorare also pay out ยฃ100 / ยฃ1000 on the final two tiers, so it's not a 'printing money' style system. Those packs gave really good cards which help people earn Gems, cash and essence - all at a cost for Sorare.
If Sorare do end up profiting handsomely from this, that's surely also a good thing? For the stability of the platform and future prize pools at both F2P and Pro level, I can't quite understand what would motivate people to be sad here.
I'm not sure we will see this level of engagement towards Set packs when the World Cup is over, and regular football is back occupying peoples financial and mental spaces.
