As of this week, @juiceboxETH is 3 years old. So far, ~1.3k projects have used Juicebox to raise ~$186m for incredible causes (like @AssangeDAO and @ConstitutionDAO).

But Juicebox is still extremely underrated.

although we don't normally think about it, base reality is messy and hard to articulate to others

so by default we inhabit a linguistic universe made by others who put reality in words before us

when people come up with new language, our perceptions of everyday life changes with it

one of the most important things that came from the apollo moon missions (humanity's greatest achievement) is a term: the overview effect

the overview effect is a new perspective that the astronauts were trying to articulate to us down on earth

it's realizing that we're all alone in a vast nothingness of space, yet together on a little spaceship called earth

it's realizing that differences that seem so big on the surface start to look so small from up there

it's realizing that we need to take care of this fragile little ball of pale blue earthlight that is suspended like a mote of dust on a sunbeam

it's a curiosity about our place in the universe, and an optimism for how humanity will evolve as we go out and explore the stars

the person who coined this term is 82 years old, his name is frank white

he spoke to tons of astronauts and then compiled their insights and packaged it into a term

and came up with a new space philosophy

and he's also a great person

...but he's never been to space
...but everyone thinks he should go to space
...but you need money to go to space

so moondao decided to try and help, contributing funds directly and organizing a campaign to support frank

we think we can do it, we're currently 33% of the way to our goal, and have two more weeks to make it happen
