@LoveIock_ I'll be fully honest, their art felt sus from the get go
I figured they had learned art via tracing- but that's not always bad since it can be a valid tool for learning how to draw
What's bad is continuing to Trace and charge luxury pricing
@acidpooch@Mothdusky@SelinarSnowcat She blocked me too, for making a similar callout
This is all really juicy, I wonder how much she's made from scamming people
Probably thousands and thousands of dollars
@leomon32@bunzhida@CreationTheProt someone reached out to the person who generated the AI piece, and confirmed that it was a txt2img generation, that was then refined using img2img over several passes
https://t.co/JzTSiP4Bts
@leomon32@ConnorFolf@definitelynotta I'm pretty sure it's a txt2img generation that's then refined with an img2img pass
Someone could test this by using the generation data of the image and reproducing all the steps
It should lead to an identical result
I'd do it but I don't want to download ai on my pc🤢
@CreationTheProt It's wise to not make hasty conclusions, that's for sure
I hope I'm wrong, but unfortunately I'm pretty confident I'm not
Always willing to keep an open mind tho
Something else worth mentioning is that the model that generated the AI version was released Sept 8
Mothdusky's own thread say she hadn't even created the art file until the 18th
How did the AI train on a piece of art that didn't exist yet?
some people are saying "you didn't read the whole thread"
So let me reiterate:
If they're tracing AI they'll do anything to hide it, a screenshot of a date on a file doesn't prove anything
It's all way too easy to fake for me to be comfortable taking their word for it
@CreationTheProt The AI model was released Sept 8th, 10 days before Mothdusky started drawing the witch art
She claims it got put into an AI, but how could've the AI trained on an art piece that didn't exist yet?
It's txt2img generation too, so it couldn't have used her piece as a baseline either
@ConnorFolf@definitelynotta you're right that a lot of people steal art and put it into AIs
but I really don't think that's the case here
It's kinda tricky to send images back in time
@ConnorFolf@definitelynotta firstly it would be enough lol
And you're right, normally your point would be more likely
Except for the fact that this AI was created before Mothdusky even started the sketch, look at the date on her file
how could someone train an ai off art that didn't even exist yet?
@CreationTheProt@Mothdusky and that's ignoring the fact that getting a near exact one-to-one replica is legitimately impossible
you could get something similar if you used img2img generation-
but mothdusky also shared the generation data of the AI image, and it clearly says "txt2img"
@CreationTheProt@Mothdusky according to mothdusky's "timeline of proof" she shared the sketch with her client in mid-late august 2024
The model for the AI was released early august💀
Even if the sketch somehow got fed into an AI, how could the AI have stolen art that didn't even exist online yet?
@definitelynotta it's easy to fake a screenshot or an internal file
It's really really really hard to fake a post from over a year ago, especially since we could just see it ourselves
@definitelynotta If they could show proof they uploaded the image to a public place, like their twitter, before the ai image
Or show that the art file has been unmodified since before the ai image
Then I'd feel more at ease
