on my hands and knees begging people not to opt out of their workplace pensions bc they don’t believe our generation will ever retire. it is not a good idea! it is a very very bad idea!!
Around 850k households who are eligible for pension credit still aren't claiming it - ask your parents and relatives, or people in your community if they've checked their eligibility - the deadline for backdating the claim is next Friday!! #costofliving https://t.co/cOAuj3ZLsZ

I read that UK Onward thing about how the UK government is investing more than it has for most of the past on traditionally defined capital (transport and R&D etc...) and we should maybe think about skills and health as capital too. So I looked up the Yorkshire data.

really fantastic (and timely!) session on the current macroeconomic climate from Dame Frances Cairncross and just how unprecedented the factors have been to get us where we are today #plsaannual22
repeated theme today that “savers” are not a homogenous group - many are “triple defaulting” (fund, contribution rate, retirement age) and while defaults as a whole are working, at least one of these choices might not give them their best outcomes in retirement #PLSAannual22
also interesting that “financial inclusion” has been dropped in the pension minister’s job title in favour of “growth”. obviously only three weeks into the tenure but will be interesting to see if this changes priorities
plsa framework for adequacy is clear, evidence driven and practical. the qualitative insight shared in the session this morning was great too - we all know saving for the future is important, and the industry needs to work to help savers achieve the best outcomes #PLSAannual22
Lunchtime reading: See what Emma Douglas says about the PLSA's recommendations. Read the latest PLSA report on Five Steps to Better Pensions on our website or head over to the PLSA stand to pick up your own copy.
