Earlier this week, I moderated a discussion focused on successfully overcoming mental health challenges with a group of Steelers players.

Rest is an active process of renewal that heals our minds, bodies, and spirits. A rested brain can imagine possibilities when an exhausted one may only see problems. By honoring rest as a tool for recovery, we're able to bring a stronger version of ourselves to life's challenges.

Rest is where our nervous systems recalibrate, our creativity returns, and our identities detach from toxic work culture. It's like an essential business meeting with our own souls. Rest creates space for us to remember our purpose when we're not producing. It's success embodied.

In our fast-paced world, success is often celebrated as a product of relentless effort and tireless hustle. We've been trained to glorify long workdays, chase endless productivity, and neglect signs of burnout. What if the secret sauce to sustained success was how well we rested?

One of the most meaningful ways that we can connect with people on their mental health healing journeys is by openly sharing our lived experiences. This type of transparent communication creates new opportunities for us to build trust and reciprocate support in our relationships.

This week, I started my journey of training to become a Sound Healing Practitioner. Shout out to Amanda Chirumbolo Miller, Founder of Allora Health and Wellness, for creating this program. I'm excited to learn, grow, and eventually share this wellness practice with the community.

I'm currently accepting new referrals for my Pay What Makes You Happy Program. I provide 1-on-1 clinical mental health treatment for adults above the age of 25 in Pennsylvania. Additionally, clients can supplement their psychotherapy with individual and/or group somatic sessions.

The most high functioning, resourceful, and charismatic people aren't exempt from experiencing complex grief and trauma. In some instances, they may cope and deal with emotional challenges by becoming hyperfixated on their success. Let's be mindful that they're human-beings, too.
