We've all lost the pool for when 29 would get their broadcast fixed (2 hours in, still broken!), and we staged our drinking game poorly, so we're all sober. It's an enlightening primer on how valued men's gymnastics, though.
We honestly can't tell if someone has been in the NBC control room trying to fix things for 25 minutes or if this is just randomized bugginess that result in the occasional 1-3 seconds of sound or video split up by long stretches of black screen.
Fun fact: NBC29's preferred way for me to contact them is to send them a letter via postal mail (1 week minimum for delivery, thanks USPS sorting facility).
Now that the Waynesboro quarry park is open, is there any chance we could get Mark Cline's elephants back? Those were awesome. I still regret not flagging him down and asking how much it'd cost to buy them and put them in my front yard.
Got a very scammy-looking postcard allegedly from my graduate school giving me 5 days to "confirm the accuracy of your record." I think it is actually probably from UNC-CH since most of their communication to me has been very unfortunate and poorly conveyed.
The Faded Poppy is moving into (part of?) the Rockfish Gap Outfitters building; it makes some sense considering the building they are currently in (the low 50s slung one near the Christmas House) is for sale and losing half of their tenants.
Had to come to a complete screeching stop at the 250/240 Mechums split today because people assume the stop sign they have is optional and they go ahead and pull out into oncoming 250 traffic (who don't have a stop sign and are going 45-55mph). grrrrr.
So there is a Brightspeed internet outage (#4 this month) that they are projecting to be fixed by 6pm Monday. Delightful.
They also flat out said I use too much internet (presumably because I worked from home) so they are degrading my speed.
@uxemily I said the exact same thing the other day, and I couldn't believe it was coming out of my mouth. Ugh. Needless to say, we're looking at our options, too because their automated services are no better than their customer reps.
This was a master class in terrible customer experience (more stressful than doing my taxes, actually), but it's good to know HR Block thinks all is fine now because it was just a "small" number of users affected who, it is implied, aren't as important as their other customers.
