‘There's lots of media coverage today about the "women's toilets guidance".

Unfortunately, most of it is nonsense. So...

The current law has been in place since 2010.

Lots of people simply ignored it, or pretended they didn't understand it before.

It's VERY simple. Service Providers who have facilities or services open to the public, or employees, which are for men & women, can only provide them on the basis of sex. Not identity.

This isn't just about loos. It's all services, so women's

Rape Crisis centres
Domestic Violence centres
Prisons
Changing Rooms
Sports
Hospital wards
Homeless shelters
Breastfeeding groups
Lesbian groups

This applies at work & in schools too, but slightly differently.

At work your employer MUST provide either separate loos & changing rooms for men & women (based on biology, not identity) or completely self-contained, single-user facilities.

Sometimes public facilities can be provided on a unisex basis, as long as they're labelled as such.

Schools cannot offer multi-user mixed sex facilities AT ALL. This includes shared hand washing areas.

This has ALWAYS been the legal case, even before the law in 2010, the Sex Discrimination Act of 1975 said the same.

There's a reason why this is being reported as a toilet law. That's because it's VERY difficult to argue that males should be allowed to use facilities like women's rape crisis centres, without coming across as an evil degenerate.

So, it's not new & it's not just toilets.

Manchester voted against having an elected city mayor in 2012. But they were ignored and politicians created a much more powerful Greater Manchester mayoralty without asking voters in a referendum.

I’m not sure Burn’em or Labour can claim much of a democratic mandate under those circumstances.

Jack Charlton’s son has given up his father’s World Cup medal over the inheritance tax bill…

John Charlton handed the heirloom to his mother to avoid a £200,000 HMRC demand following his father’s death in 2020.

So before you choke on your oatmeal over this week’s most divisive quote, let me just say that trying to ban dogs is very much in the extremists playbook.

The call to ban dogs as pets here in NYC was fully expected but opponents of Mamdani were warned that to mention this would open up claims of “Islamophobia” because the public would not believe them.

So here it is.

Radical extremists like Keswani do not hide their disdain for dogs, and their desire to force their religious views on everyone else. In Wales, for example, extremists tried to ban dogs in parks for religious reasons but got public pushback.

Good luck trying to get New Yorkers to give up their dogs.

And by the way, Muslim- Americans in our family and friend circle love dogs, and especially my dog Willow. Their kids beg for dogs because dogs are fantastic, great for companionship, help to keep kids calm, fun to be with and are a great way for children to learn to give and receive care and love. People are entitled to their religious beliefs and I believe dogs manifest love and beauty.

Many unwanted dogs need homes so I will add a public service announcement: adopt a dog today!

Two police officers came to my home because I spoke up for laboratory beagles.
MBR Acres complained about one of my Instagram reels and I was accused of an offence under the Online Safety Act.

My reel was based on evidence I believed to be genuine, including a Stericycle hazardous waste consignment note, whistleblower information and corroborating Home Office correspondence. I refused to admit guilt because I had done nothing dishonest.

After my solicitor explained the evidence behind my reel, Cambridgeshire Police took no further action and closed the investigation.

But the wider issue remains.

If people can face a police investigation for speaking on a matter of public interest, backed by evidence they believed to be true, then freedom of expression in Britain is under real pressure.

We should all be asking ourselves: what kind of country do we want to be? One where citizens can question powerful organisations without fear, or one where people begin to think twice before speaking because they worry the police may come knocking at their door?

It made me think of Orwell’s 1984. Not because Britain is that society, but because the fear of speaking freely is how societies begin to silence themselves.

My conscience is clear. I don’t lie. I speak from the heart and I do everything I reasonably can to ensure what I publish is evidence-based.

I will never stop standing up for animals, and I will never be intimidated into silence.

Free speech isn’t tested when everyone agrees with you. It’s tested when people have the right to question powerful interests without fearing the consequences. We must protect that right.
