FlyCADD scores can give insights into the impact of genetic variation at single nucleotide resolution. We describe FlyCADD and its application to study naturally segregating SNPs, interpret GWAS-identified SNPs, rank SNPs based on impact and improve genome-editing experiments 🧬
Excited to share that FlyCADD has been published in Genetics! 🧬
Predict the functional impact of SNPs anywhere in the genome of Drosophila melanogaster using FlyCADD: https://t.co/AVJo70Bljy
Excited to be in Barcelona for #ESEB2025 ! If you want to know more about the application of FlyCADD for SNP impact prediction in D. melanogaster, I'll be presenting this work Tuesday 19th 12.45-1PM! Or catch our group at poster P02.334 to know more about the impact of SNPs 🧬☀️
Preprint alert: FlyCADD! 🧬
Excited to share FlyCADD: impact prediction tool scoring the functional impact of any single nucleotide variant across the entire Drosophila melanogaster genome, to distinguish causal from neutral SNPs
(1/n)
FlyCADD was developed by applying the CADD framework (Kircher et al. 2014) for the first time to an insect genome, using available genome annotations for D. melanogaster and a drosophilid whole genome alignment.
All FlyCADD impact prediction scores are available on Zenodo!
This week I had a lovely time attending #DrosEU24#Barcelona Full of great talks, discussions and sun! Had the opportunity to present FlyCADD - the impact prediction tool for single nucleotide variants in D. melanogaster - to the community! DM for more information on the tool 🧬
A session on the use of genomic tools to assess population health at #NAEM2024 🧬 It was amazing organising and listening to the diverse talks and discussions! 🧬🦣🐸🪱🪶🍯🐘 Organised together with Niek and @mdv_bio
Had a great time at #nlseb2023 discussing my poster with my research plans on understanding the impact of single nucleotide variants in Drosophila melanogaster by creating and applying a prediction tool and CRISPR-Cas9!
Video summary of the 13th @DrosEU workshop.
Thanks again to the participants, especially to Bas, Joost, Marjan, and @WUR for hosting us.
Great days of talks and discussion in a friendly, collaborative, and beautiful setting #DrosEU23#Wageningen#Drosophila#Genomics
Thanks to all the in person and virtual participants of the 13th DrosEU workshop, and to Bas, Joost and Marjan for hosting us @WUR. Two great days of talks and discussion in a friendly, collaborative, and constructive atmosphere #DrosEU23#Wageningen#Drosophila#Genomics
Many thanks to the instructors @C__Hahn@passDan and attendees of the Physalia Winter School in Bioinformatics.
We have covered so many different topics this week, from Unix to Genome Annotation and Phylogenomics!
Thank you all!🙏
