@ewnreporter We are at an infrastructure day zero. In Cape Town everyone had a bucket in their shower, put aerators on the taps and removed plugs from baths. We do not have the luxury of gardens and topping up swimming pools when people don't have access to sustain life. Simple.

This wasn’t random crime. It was a blatant attack on #accountability a warning.

How does #accountability survive when witnesses and whistleblowers are being hunted?

How do we expect the truth to emerge when those who speak it are left unprotected?

Witness protection cannot be optional.
Without it, justice is theatre.

Three hours. An entire sitting of council to vote on one item, the urgent appointment of the accounting officer of the @CityofJoburgZA Despite calling for an extraordinary session, the item was withdrawn. No City Manager, no accountability.

2 1/2 hours in, and the 1 item on today's extraordinary council sitting hasn't even been tabled. Something that should ha e been wrapped up over an hour ago. Again, we wait for the @CityofJoburgZA to govern and appoint a City Manager. So far, only MMC is present.

For clarity: A CoC is required by law under the Occupational Health & Safety Act - issued by a qualified electrician. Which #SANS standard do @Eskom’s solar rules even align to? Only #CapeTown allows exporting to the grid - NOWHERE else in SA. And how exactly is an #Eskom worker getting hurt by solar that doesn’t touch their grid? Eskom isn’t the regulator. This is overreach dressed up as safety.

#OUTA’s peaceful picket involved fewer than 15 people – which, under the Regulation of Gatherings Act, doesn’t require prior notice. Another poor attempt to use public resources to dodge accountability.
