Hearing this has me heavy.

I know what the locker room looks like on the outside strength, toughness, no excuses. But what people don’t see is the weight so many of us carry on the inside. The pressure. The expectations. The injuries. The identity shifts. The silence.
We’re taught to push through pain. To be strong. To handle it. But mental battles aren’t won in silence.

I just want to say this to every current and former player, and every man struggling mentally: it’s okay to get help. It doesn’t make you weak. It makes you wise. It makes you human.

God didn’t create us to carry everything alone. There is strength in speaking up. There is healing in community. There is peace on the other side of asking for help.

I pray for peace over his family. I pray for every man silently fighting battles nobody knows about. And I pray we break the lie that suffering in silence is strength.

Check on your brothers. Talk to someone. Pray. Go to therapy. Call that friend. Your life matters more than any game ever will.
You are not alone.
