BREAKING: EU crypto firms ordered to remove Tether's $USDT by January 8, 2027.
ESMA says MiCA-licensed firms "should cease providing services tied to non-compliant stablecoins."
This includes trading, exchange, custody, transfers, order execution, advice and portfolio services.
USDT ($184B supply) isn't MiCA-compliant, as Tether lacks an EU e-money licence.
240+ MiCA-licensed firms could be affected.
