I sing the high parts on most things. I love Hang Gliding, especially with my partner in all things music and life, Kerry Marsh. We are the Vertical Voices!!
Wishing it hadn’t been your last, TT. It was the honor of my life to sing for you and to celebrate yours. Missing you with deep gratitude, my dearest old friend.
This is my birthday lullaby, written by Bernstein, Comden, and Green and performed by Tony Bennett and Bill Evans. It was just sung to me—beautifully—by an old friend, and I'm pretty seriously choked up as a result. See you all Sunday. https://t.co/lDU0noDY03
You may not know that you know a survivor, but it’s highly likely that you do.
Survivors of trauma are close to you. They are people you love & you may not know.
Many decide whether their story is safe with someone by how they respond to other survivors.
Don’t push them away.
Please protect our beloved United States from those who will not try to protect our democracy from danger until they find it politically safe to do so.
I think I need to put this as plainly as I can, and I apologize for shouting: PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THE LIVE PERFORMING ARTS AREN'T JUST 'NOT WORKING' – THEY ARE *PREVENTED* FROM ENGAGING IN THE WORK AND CAREERS FOR WHICH THEY WERE TRAINED.
Incredible scene at Colorado’s Capitol right now. Thousands of protesters are lying face down with their hands behind their backs chanting “I can’t breathe.” They’re doing this for 9 mins. #copolitics#denverprotest#GeorgeFloyd
Right now I'm sitting at our dining-room table, looking at this silkscreen by Helen Frankenthaler. Perhaps it will comfort you as it does me: https://t.co/1P7dpgC98F
Mr. President: How can you, or your staff, tweet such a thing at a time like this? Have you no shame? America needs desperately for you to be better than this.
This is foolish—at any time, but especially now. Art and artists give us hope, consolation, and diversion. We never need them more than in hours of trial.
I’m in Colorado w/ @JoeNeguse visiting communities whose air is being poisoned by fracking.
What we’re seeing is appalling. Companies are building fracking sites on public lands, across the street from schools + homes.
Their toxic emissions are invisible. This camera sees them.
Sometimes I wonder if the natural state of an electorate is to be lied to, by people in power, because believing lies almost always feels better than believing the truth.
