@TTCnotices Meanwhile @TPSOperations block Jane buses from entering and exiting causing serious delays for riders. While waiting, the accused person was parked infront of 50+ riders (waiting for the blocked buses). A more private (and less humiliating place to park) was mere feet away.
I’m running for City Council in Parkdale—High Park.
I’m running because our neighbours deserve a councillor who has walked alongside them, fought for them, and knows how to turn community demands into real wins at City Hall.

It’s concerning to me that an obviously unstable IDF soldier fresh from committing war crimes was speaking to students at TMU. Someone could have been killed by his violent conduct, smashing a glass door on his way to assault protesters. He was not attacked. He injured himself.
Five lawyers, acting pro bono, just filed a $10 million lawsuit against Toronto Metropolitan University alleging that @TorontoMet's administration falsely accused their clients of antisemitism.
Our clients are current and former @LincAlexLawTMU students.
Their full statement is here:
#Gaza: We are seriously concerned that #Israel appears to be inflicting on Palestinians in Gaza conditions of life increasingly incompatible with their continued existence as a group in Gaza—forcibly transferred into ever shrinking spaces with little or no access to life-saving services & at constant risk of attack: https://t.co/eQn7cOD9S5
Pro-Palestine petition at TMU:
1. "should not have been characterized as antisemitic";
2. "a valid exercise of student expression"; and
3. not a breach of the Code of Conduct.
Now: All eyes on Rafah, where they should have been this entire time. https://t.co/yBjs1gA7C2
It is completely outrageous how across the board younger-usually racialized-professionals are facing harassment and repercussions for their public support of Palestinians, meanwhile zero of the senior colleagues bullying them and saying egregious things are facing any consequence
Law students and early career lawyers shouldn't be afraid to share their views because of a fear that it will impact their chances at employment. Tbh this is the least important thing going on right now, but it is also ridiculous that it even needs to be said.
We are so proud of PJP contributor Joe Gracia, whose essay on listening to Taylor Swift in Prison was published by the New Yorker.
Thank you to everyone who has been reading and sharing this piece.

It's odd to me how many non-profit agencies are shy of advocacy, and of people like me who are vocal, because it might "hurt funding." I raised over $80,000 for emergency relief, over $65,000 for my last agency, and helped get $97 million from the federal government. Just sayin'.
For those of you, like me, who will not be celebrating the upcoming nationalist holiday— I thought a thread of anti-Canada Day / Indigenous-centred alternatives for the day could be a good resource!
Here's what I have so far. Feel free to add :)
When is the last time a Toronto mayor, in their acceptance speech, mentioned the importance of standing up for women who are trapped in abusive relationships? I mean, the acknowledgment of so many people who rarely get the time of day from politicians. #torontoelection
