🎉 Wow. I wanted to say thank you to so many for your support as I stand for Vice President for the Liberal Democrats.
I’m standing to help get more great people from ethnic minorities involved and elected with the Liberal Democrats at all levels!
The Liberal Democrats must be the first and last line of defence against the populism infecting our politics.
We need to be ready to fight for the soul of our country.

Positive, too, to hear of his commitment to support the sector in overcoming the barriers it faces, including working with EU counterparts to manage the impact of British tourists at EU destinations. 2/2
Delighted to hear the Tourism Minister, @RhonddaBryant, recognise the contribution of the UK outbound travel sector to the UK economy at @tourismsvoice’s Tourism Policy Conference, quoting @ABTAMembers’s figures, and that his predecessor had overlooked it. 1/2
Happy to welcome @ABTAMembers to @EUdelegationUK. Good exchange on the mutual benefits of EU/UK tourism, upcoming border management changes (EU EES/ETIAS & UK ETA), mobility issues & the travel rights of EU and UK citizens protected by the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement.
Great day 2 of the @ABTAMembers visit to @Port_of_Dover to see the extensive prep for EES whenever it comes in. Huge thanks to Emma Ward for the tour—great to see the scale of work already done to be as ready as possible. ABTA’s efforts continue to prepare members for launch.
🙌🏾 So many powerful #BlackHistoryMonth contributions in the Commons yesterday.
I was proud to share my own - as well as a farcical tale of mistaken identity that keeps fellow new MP @BenObeseJecty and I on our toes 😂
And the amazing @juliacambridge1 won the Patsy Calton award, in recognition of all the women she has mentored to become candidates and elected representatives.
Julia has been such a support to me personally and I know many women in the party feel indebted to her. #LDConf
such as the mutual recognition of professional qualifications providing guiding services, aviation decarbonisation, the reform and redesign of the UK business rates system and the apprenticeship levy. 3/3 #travelindustry#Sustainability
A good start to day 2 at #LDCon with meetings with @jbonham_carter and @ThomasMorrison to discuss all things UK/EU relations, inc. the new @LibDems motion to: call on the Gov't to extend #YMS to EU countries, open negotiations on reciprocal passport and visa-free 1/3
trips between the UK/EU and exemptions from respective travel authorisations schemes. Lots more to do and looking forward to working together on issues affecting the UK travel and tourism sector, 2/3
We’ll be at the @LibDems party conference over the next few days talking to MPs and peers on how they can support the UK outbound travel sector, discussing ABTA priorities for the #travelindustry, including UK-EU relations, #sustainability and more.
These are riots not protests.
Targetting people of colour, attacking mosques, looting shops & setting fire to asylum hotels are not the actions of people with “legitimate concerns.”
Criminals must face the full force of the law.
Britain is better than this.
An honour to give my maiden speech as #Eastbourne’s MP, where I:
👶👶Called on the Government to scrap the two-child benefit cap
👦🏾🧓🏻Shared my family’s story of why Eastbourne is the most compassionate place there is.
🏖️Competed with Nigel Farage on the size of our piers…😂
This afternoon, the new Legal Migration Minister, @SeemaMalhotra1, spoke positively about supporting the growth and contribution of the travel and tourism sectors to the UK economy. Hearing her talk about the importance of industry/government collaboration was also encouraging.
