I spent a lot of time at Skylab from 2018-19 and saw its impact on the Columbus arts scene firsthand. From cheap rent to free gallery space for up-and-coming artists to a venue for DIY musicians, Skylab is the best of what a local arts space can be.

@grace_roso Waxahatchee's Saint Cloud came out right when I moved across the country to SF, the most locked-down city in the U.S. I listened to it *obsessively,* and while I enjoy it just as much now, I don't really play it anymore. It's always going to be attached to those early months.

@theashleyray it used to be SO easy to pop over to a random show/lecture/etc. and to know you'd have a friend there without even texting them. now i have to really work to know what's going on in my city.
