"Douglas had become a very rich man." This is well after he had received the fortune from his wife. It seems that he needed the money from her to make even more money of his own. #AuburnWorldHistory

[Julia Rodriguez @juliarod6470]

"Douglas’s solution was to marry a daughter of the OldSouth and, more importantly, marry into her enormous fortune." You can tell this was back in history a little because of their intentions for marriage. #AuburnWorldHistory

I didn't realize that many Egyptians from different parts of society were ignored or rejected. #AuburnWorldHistory

[Julia Rodriguez @juliarod6470]

[Julia Rodriguez @juliarod6470]

I was surprised to have an assignment having to do with Egypt. I was a good change of pace and very interesting. #AuburnWorldHistory

[Julia Rodriguez @juliarod6470]

@Zeno68869915 The speech itself really shows how brave she is. #AuburnWorldHistory

[Julia Rodriguez @juliarod6470]

In her speech you can tell that she shows herself to be brave of the things that she has gone through and how she has handled it. #AuburnWorldHistory

[Julia Rodriguez @juliarod6470]

"They beat me with their pen, with their writings. And friends, that is much worse." Sticks and stones. #AuburnWorldHistory

[Julia Rodriguez @juliarod6470]

It was uncommon of in the 1960s for women to take a stand. This is one of the reasons her speech made such an impact. #AuburnWorldHistory
