@allierthigpen @iviprofenart Maybe instead of tweeting about it, talk to the person and educate them about how much impact they could really have if they were to talk with their friend. Because tweeting ab it does nothing honestly
@allierthigpen @iviprofenart But i don’t shame people for not feeling comfortable doing so. It’s about educating not shaming people into compliance or putting down people when you don’t know the whole story
@allierthigpen @iviprofenart I agree 100%. I just would suggest you don’t go making vast generalizations about people who wear got consent shirts ignoring what’s right in front of them. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to someone who is your friend and has done bad things. I applaud those who stand up
@allierthigpen @iviprofenart i completely understand where you are coming from bc it can be super offputting to see that, but just be careful when labeling people like that bc you never know the conversations that have happened privately
@allierthigpen @iviprofenart don’t assume that because someone wears a “got consent” shirt and then are around a known assaulter, that they are “fake” or ignorant. this just perpetuates the good/bad binary. sometimes people find the strength to confront their friends who are assaulters.
