Cornyn’s letter continued:

“With the help of their partner organizations, Islamic Relief @IslamicRelief USA has been able to support many of our neighbors and refugees who experienced health and financial challenges this year.”

Islamic Relief likes to present itself as a moderate Islamic charity. However, many people, including Islamic countries, have accused Islamic relief of funding and supporting Islamic terrorists in HAMAS and the Muslim Brotherhood.

These claims have even prompted investigations and funding restrictions from multiple governments. In 2014, the United Arab Emirates, where President Trump will be visiting next week on May 14th, labeled Islamic Relief Worldwide a terrorist organization.

I wonder how the UAE would feel about a GOP Senator thanking an Islamic charity they designated as an Islamic terror org.
It definitely sends mixed messaging since we have a Republican President in the White House.
