They need to understand that if they were suspended in kindergarten, maybe it wasn’t because they were an extra bad kid. And they need to be given the tools to help solve whatever problem they want.

But here’s an example: nonwhite preschoolers are much more likely to be suspended than white preschoolers for the same infraction. This is the result of a million decisions that contributed to this inequity.

Believe it or not I am an expert in what I teach. I have read widely. If you showed me something that disproved structural racism, I’d stop teaching it.
