I wish California had more than just one reporter who asks politicians follow-up tough questions. without @ZavalaA we would have no clue what’s going in Sacramento
JUST IN: Dept. of Homeland Security says man who stalked and killed a woman before killing himself on Highway 50 in Sacramento was in the country illegally.

Gas costs more in California than Hawaii, and Mike McGuire had a chance to do something about it.
He voted against suspending the gas tax.
Families won’t forget who chose Sacramento over the North State.
Sacramento's Land Park and Broadway area blends historic charm with a modern edge across four distinct microlifestyles. First up, Land Park. This is the area's prestigious anchor, known for its sprawling 1940s custom estates. It sits right next to William Land Park, giving residents immediate access to massive green spaces and the Sacramento Zoo.
Next, Curtis Park. If you want a more intimate storybook feel, this neighborhood is filled with Spanish revival and tutor homes, but the real draw is the culture. Everything is centered around a highly active, tight-knit community-driven hub.
Third, South Land Park. This pocket trades the dense historic cottages for much larger, quieter suburban lots. It's famous for flat roofs and walls of glass that bring the outdoors inside, a sought-after look known as Eichler style.
The Pocket takes that quieter lifestyle even further. Tucked into a bend of the Sacramento River, it’s known for leafy residential streets, larger suburban homes, parks and easy access to the river and greenbelt. It feels peaceful and removed while still being surprisingly close to downtown.
Finally, the Broadway Corridor. While the residential streets stay quiet, this strip provides the essential energy layer. It connects those quiet pockets with iconic local food spots and landmarks that give the area its edge. While the architecture changes, they all share a rare level of livability that turns these streets into lifelong communities.

I nominate @FidiumFiber as the worst corporation doing business in Sacramento.
No customer service on the weekends, no customer service in the evenings, AI lady messes up over and over sending you to billing when you need tech. And they lie.

I have driven the route that Kennedy took that night. The road he was on bent away from the road to that bridge. It required a conscious effort to turn onto the road to the bridge. His story of an accidental turn doesn't add up and never has.
