At the end of March, Santa Paula High School Link Crew Restorative Justice facilitators had the amazing opportunity to engage in community-building circles with Glen City’s sixth graders. 🐻✨ It was a powerful experience filled with connection and reflection.
The most common feedback I hear from teachers who work in phone free schools (including my own experience) is simple but so important: the kids are talking to each other again. At the end of class. In the lunchroom. During free time. Real, face to face conversation.
If you oppose phone bans because you’re afraid you won’t reach your child in an emergency, consider this:
You’re letting the fear of death keep them from actually living.
