Early experiences build brain architecture but on the other hand toxic stress derails healthy development. This impacts the lower brain density and also can become frozen in our nervous system. 🧠🌱

BBC covered FASD telling the story of two different families. FASD is common but hugely under recognised. That has to change if we are to make a difference to people’s lives.
It’s FASD month!
Let’s raise awareness about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

Applying for a job that would be ideal for me but it is difficult selling yourself and your experience/skillset within a piece of writing. Hoping to at least get through to an interview🤞 I know I could thrive within this role as a support worker.
This speaks right to my heart, the passion I have for completely updating education for all is what drove me to start my Psychology degree with @OpenUniversity (now in yr 2), to hopefully become an ed psych and be a part of the change.
Curious to know how people got into educational psychology? What was your pathway? Any advice? I'm in my 2nd yr Psychology degree looking to take steps towards the ed psych field. Would love some perspectives, thoughts and ideas that have helped you, please.#edpsych#psychology
@DrGrace_EP Thank you, it is very much appreciated. A great read and I love the thought process shifting from rejections to detours. I am thinking about trying to volunteer with either an LA or a private ed psych team to get my foot in the door, if possible. X
Statement from UK national charity SMiRA on the use of "situational mutism" Vs "selective mutism". Please RT and share. #selectivemutism#situationalmutism
First assignment in year 2 submitted, feeling pretty nervous but regardless I know the feedback will be extremely useful moving forward. Anybody ever submit an assignment feeling fab or like me always submit feeling full of doubt? 🤔 #Psychologydegree#TheOU
I think autistic people are often mistaken for being argumentative or "needing to be right" when, in reality, it's more about FEELING right and needing the other person to understand why.
Eldest started A Levels, youngest started GCSEs and I will be starting my second year studying Psychology with @OpenUniversity - definitely a studying household for the foreseeable.
