1/4 Today, #IWD2021, I reflect on my great-grandmother Ellen Nyberg nee Licey, pictured here with her sons early 1900's.
Ellen was so brutally abused by her husband she had to flee for her life, leaving her sons behind.

3/4 We know Ellen was a strong Budawang woman who lived in Ulladulla, Lake Conjola & finally La Perouse.

I think about this brave lady who produced such beautiful, talented sons & I think abt the many innocent women and children who suffer the crime domestic violence #IWD2021
