What an amazing day celebrating the opening of Beamish’s fantastic new 1950s exhibits! 🎉🎉

Today we celebrated the opening of our replicas of semi-detached council houses from Red House in Sunderland, police houses & office from Leam Lane in Gateshead, & a bowling green & pavilion from Billingham in The 1950s Town. @HeritageFundUK

🎉 We're delighted to have picked up an award at the national Museums + Heritage Awards last night! 🎉

We won Shop of the Year for our 1900s Town Market Stalls and were also Highly Commended in the Visitor Welcome Award at the ceremony in London.
