@lilamediahunter I definitely agree! The stories were enough to glue the watchers to the screen as it was also a great learning experience with events in history we might not have previously learned about.
@CindyHuang76 I definitely agree with you! Discrimination comes from ignorance and pure refusal to truly learn about others. It's truly disheartening to see how this ignorance is still prevalent today amidst an increasing amount of movement to bring the consequences of racism to light.
There were many off-key chords like those in horror films that added to the terror of the consequences of racism. All in all, the director did a great job in translating the horror of people who have been targeted for many years. (5/5)

After watching Do the Right Thing (1989), I immediately felt tense and frustrated. It was extremely frustrating to see people were to hate with such intense vigor. (1/?)
The detail of the pictures and movie clips themselves with the narrating was enough to stir feelings of unease and sadness for those who fell victim to racism and discrimination. The musical score was also important in delivering these messages. (4/?)
However, it was saddening as well as inspiring to see how Black Americans innovated on their own to refute these allegations and assumptions placed on them. They worked and fought to show everyone their truth instead of White Americans clambering to speak over them. (2/?)
@tinachen5448 I definitely agree! Social media and the internet are a way for people to share information and make discussion with people worldwide possible. It's important to foster ideas in order to help them progress and develop in the future.
@lilamediahunter I agree! It can also be safe to say that they'd censor things against public interest given the political climate as well as many corporations' stances on many topics including the war going on in Hamas.
The Internet provides a platform for interaction and discussion between citizens as well as a means of sharing resources and fundraising attempts. The “produsers” become very important in such circumstances. (3/3)

I don’t believe that the FCC should have the ability to regulate the Internet as it does network television. The two are drastically different things. The internet helps give a voice to the people outside the government’s reigns. (1/3)
This becomes especially useful in times like now. Journalists who share what’s happening in trying times give hope to people who think they’ve lost it all. They grew to become people’s heroes and unfortunately, they would not be able to do so had there been regulation by the FCC.
@rachel_houng I definitely agree with your point. As this space also looks rather open, it can be possible that many families are making longer drives and more open to making food purchases due to their hunger. The bright and bold red would do a great job of catching their attention.
@lilamediahunter I agree! It’s a great reference to this version of the character in a different time period as her previous versions. It helps display her distaste for technology while also appealing young people with a familiar face and something relatable to intrigue them.
You can even argue that the ad helps promote the idea that even subliminally, women always want sex from men which is clearly a harmful idea to spread as it will strengthen certain men’s correlation between size and sex with women. (4/4)

Evidently, the undertones of this advertisement are inherently sexual. The nature of it is rather vulgar to promote food, which only helps catch attention. (1/?)
The use of “blow” in big and bold letters only adds to the sexualization of the model and situation. This ad is meant to target men with multiple innuendos. Should men come to think of this sandwich, they’ll most likely think of this ad that introduced it to them. (3/?)
This “Super Seven Incher” sandwich that is described to fill one’s desire with something “long” and “juicy” in front of a woman with her mouth open for it is blatantly suggestive. (2/?)
@CindyHuang76 I agree with your point, as time goes on, companies start to include fees for their services. Unfortunately these fees are a price to pay for shows and movies that we can enjoy together.
@lilamediahunter I agree! It’s been able to give people with like interests a platform for others in that community. It helped existing communities thrive as well as create new ones.
