@MichaelRedd_@Ballislife No system that helps athletes match to best sport. Tough to develop in rural areas. The late bloomer issue. My son was 5’9” guard at 14. 6’8” now. Only played one year AAU & 17U UAA. Late for radar. Played D1 but still wonders if he picked wrong sport.
@AnnouncerG@FortWayneCPA Aren’t a lot of them not personally guaranteed? I know someone who got 2 and each was under the $200,000 mark. Not personally guaranteed & he had an S-corp.
@TIMBO_SL1CE@KansasCitian87@khj959 Lack of access to basketball courts is troubling. Schools aren’t open anymore due to liability & outdoor options are gone. My son has always struggled to find a place to get shots up or play in the off-season. The wealthy kids have barns or you have to be a coach’s kid.
@cordes_tax The same issue is true in our area for in-ground salt water pools. Only usable for 3-4 months per year & hard to find knowledgeable people to fix them who aren’t awful to deal with because they can be. I have said this for years. It’s a great industry for snowbirds.
@TIMBO_SL1CE@KansasCitian87@khj959 I don’t know for sure, but I’m not aware of a lot of rec leagues in our area. Our small high school doesn’t have a boy’s soccer program. We have girls, but soccer season is the same as football. Many really small schools have dropped football for soccer.
@TIMBO_SL1CE@KansasCitian87@khj959 In Indiana, the state known for basketball, every park in our small city has replaced basketball hoops with soccer fields and pickleball courts. The soccer fields in our town and in nearby Chicago are busy every evening & weekend.
@Sarah_Colero My stepdad is Canadian. I worked for a Canadian company for years. You can’t assume I don’t know. I had a baby while working for that company. Because I was in the US, I gave birth on Friday night & was back at work on Wed. I would choose Canada always for social support.
@Sarah_Colero There are many choosing suicide or lose access to care & it effectively ends the same when you can’t afford your meds that are covered in Canada & not in US. It’s not a competition. People are being offered an option for suicide. I get it. But none of it is ok.
@MiniRetireMatt Depends on industry. I’m president of our public school board. Superintendent’s role is like leading a small city as a mayor. Always on call to manage a crisis, attend events, address summer facilities projects or even out driving at 4 AM to judge inclement weather days.
When something breaks, most of us replace it. At this Brooklyn repair cafe, volunteers are helping neighbors fix everything from lamps and jeans to vintage fans and old smartwatches for free. The events are part of a growing global movement to reduce waste, save money and bring back repair skills that many people say have been lost.
@GuyDealership@Evautoalex Living in Indiana without the proper EV infrastructure to drive from one end of the state to the other is keeping myself and others from buying one.
@JackHadfield14 A key finding prior to starting Florinef was a nearly undetectable level of Aldosterone. Cortisol is mostly normal. Aldosterone has never been > low normal. Endocrinology has been dismissive & it’s not routinely tested in patients. Florinef also helps w/intense salt cravings.
@JackHadfield14 Yes. Was using Florinef & can’t increase dose due to even more debilitating headaches, a common side effect. Seems to be Immune dysfunction/MCAS driven. Have EDS diagnosis, but primarily vascular involvement w/o vascular gene. The trifecta is hard to get to core causation.
@JackHadfield14 Was healthy until virus as a child permanently shifted immune system. Each new major medical event has become harder to bounce back from. An EDS Dr told me “salt is your lifeblood”. Daily Liquid IV, intentionally pushing salt & fluid, Florinef & H1 & H2 helps.
@GuyDealership The means to pay for the purchase wasn’t the concern. The means for a $13k engine replacement, new CVT or electrical problem for a relatively new vehicle was though. Purchased warranty for the 1st time. Cost vs value is hard to assess now, even with more info available.
@GuyDealership Just finished this cycle & > 16.5. The core issue was how much both market & products have changed. How much do I need to spend? 10 yr old used holding crazy value vs new 3 cylinder turbos & EVs w/o infrastructure. Brand value/reliable? Warranty? Boring choices. Too much tech.
@JackHadfield14 This is definitely me. I had blood volume measured and still moderately low after maximizing meds. Have to work so hard to keep volume up & remain upright for long periods. Recovery from activity requires lots of reclined rest—sometimes days. Good days I can still do a lot.
